From what I've understood about Kitana and Mileena having magical powers, it's because they are Edenian (Mileena being a clone of Kitana having Edenian blood running in her veins as well). The Edenians are descendants of gods and have always had a natural affinity for magic, kinda like Elves in a lot of fantasy worlds, such as Tolkien's. That said, it does make sense that they channel these powers through their weapons.

Kid in Combat maybe male chameleon could of been trying to hide his identity, OR the characters could have just mistaken him for reptile because (full speculation mode) the female chameleon is the same species as reptile but we don't know if the male chameleon is. We also don't know if male chameleon is human so we could assume because female chameleon is he also could be. This could be why the characters mistook him for reptile but then again reptile still looked like a human and was in his disguise. Hmm maybe his specie's ability to disguise is limited and they look similar? Ok my theory fell apart. Oof

I believe Reptile's de-evolution into a raptor was explained in that arwork of his three forms from DA, which said that Saurians de-evolve the longer they spend away from either their homerealm or their Matriarch. This is obviously no longer the case, as of MK2011, since he's reptilian during MK and never progresses, even two and a half decades later.

I don’t think the de-evolution is the reason he goes from Human to Raptor from MK1-MK4. Because that would imply that raptors are all human in the beginning. I’m not denying that de-evolution is a thing, it certainly is, he goes from a normal looking Reptile to a big ass iguana. But I don’t think the de-evolution is the reason why he doesn’t appear human anymore.

I'm sure that was the reason given. Obviosuly, they just made him more reptilian from 4 onwards because they wanted to make the pallette swaps more distinct from one another. Any story explanation was cobbled together after the fact to justify it.

@@BruskPoet the reason reptile doesn't look like that because originally female chameleon I don't remember where but it says in her bio I think was an Armageddon that the reason that reptile is no longer in his human state is due to the fact that there has to be more than one of his race around in order to be in that form and that chameleons being away for so long had made it allow him to become more Savage and stopped being able to tap into that form don't quote me on that I'm just going off of what I ham pretty sure was stated in Armageddon I think it was also cuz he never needed the form afterwards

sparta 77 1 Khameleon and Chameleon are differently seen by each creator, for Tobias, they’re both Saurians/Reptilians but from MKT on, Chameleon's species is unknown. 2 In the old timeline he was marked to death by the Lin Kuei because of his betrayal. In the new one Kano stabs him with the dagger. 4 Raiden is still the protector, he’s not evil, he just doesn’t care about outworlders, NetherRealm citizens etc. So he will do anything to protect it, it doesn’t mean he’s evil or anything, he’s protecting his people like Kotal Kahn protects Outworld when he wanted to kill S.F. or the NetherRealm wanted to kill people and control them as revenants. 5 Johnny's powers came from a Mediterranean cult trough family generations

Noob Saibot, after his death at the hands of Scorpion, was resurrected as a wraith; an undead creature who loses any abilities they had in the past in place of newer ones (unlike someone such as Scorpion, who still retained his abilities as a human along with the addition of his hellfire powers). So yes, his ice abilities were removed completely.

To explain, during Onaga' s original rule, he had a dragon's egg stored in a chamber under molten lava, along with an orb binding Nitaras home realm to outworld. He was hoping he'd achieve immortality when the egg hatched. Shao Kahn killed him before it could do so. Fast forward a millenia, Nitara uses reptile to destroy cyraxs only way back to earthrealm while he wandered in outworld so that she can bribe cyrax into retrieving the orb in the chamber in exchange for a way back home. She lures cyrax to grab the orb and betrays reptile somehow. Reptile makes it to the the chamber and when he does, the egg hatches and the energy emitting from it uses reptile as a host body for the newly resurrected Onaga, fulfilling the prophecy of his return.

Smoke's ending in MK 9 is not canon but his origins are canon in the new timeline. In MK X, when Revenant Smoke says to Johnny Cage that he is not Smoke but Enenra, it gives us a hint that probably Tomas Vrabada is completely gone and then the entity of the Enenra possesses his body in the Revenant form of Smoke thanks to the powers of smoke. Also this could be possible thanks to the Enenra itself resurrected Vrabada and when he died once again (by Sindel) the Enenra could possess his body once more. (This is only my deduction)

I get the feeling when Quan Chi creates the revenants he only uses, or atleast strengthens, the darker side of their personality. Also Bi han became a wraith not a revenant so anything to do with revenants wouldn't apply to him. I think the difference is revenants are created through necromancy and wraiths, I think, are just created by a soul accepting or enjoying being sent to the netherrealm, I'm noo sure about wraiths and their creation though.

I always assumed Kitana's and Mileena's supernatural abilities came from their Edenian heritage, as others from that realm give the impression that magical ability (banshee wailing, flight, water + lightning manipulation, phasing etc) is commonplace. As for Mileena's teleport kick, I figured that Shiva or Goro taught her how to do it when she was a lonely child.

Pretty sure only cryomancers have ice abilities. But they were created relativly recently in the series so they retcon stuff and cause confusion. So it's hard to say if that founder was a cryomancer or if he's been retconned out of canon or maybe that was just an artistic choice by the in-universe creator of the portrait, I don't remember the portrait off hand. Although if he was a cryomancer it would explain the Lin Kuei's later interest in the Sub Zero brothers, maybe they were viewed as possible second comings of the original founder by some in the group.

I think Mileena can teleport because Edenians have special powers (Tanya’s fire, Rain’s water, Sindel’s screams, etc.) and Kitana can teleport (as seen in MK9) and because Mileena is of Kitana’s blood she received that ability. Plus a lot of Edenians can teleport (Kitana, Tanya, Rain, etc. Tanya and Rain teleport without using weapons). Maybe her being able to throw the sais and teleport to them is just and added benefit to her teleporting abilities or maybe her teleporting to the sais allows her to teleport to a very specific location (wherever the sais land) so its easier to control cuz she also doesn’t use the sais to teleport when she teleports in front of Jade in Jade’s chapter in MK9.

... Hydro is an official mk character but he is never in the games, only shows and comics. Chameleon isnt lin kuei and IS canon and has appeared in 2 mk games, he's the same species as reptile's. He is very "unknown" not much known, only that hes of saurian species and has been around since the events of mk1-mk armageddon and mk9-mkx. He is just spying, unknown who he works for. Some say that the grey ninjas in the background of mk9 story is him. Oh and theres khameleon who is a female version of him and there is more known abt khameleon than chameleon. Both khameleon and chameleon are canon.

Ok, let me clarify: 1) Those are what-if's, it's how they would look like if they never died in mk9. 2)Smoke never became a cyborg in this timeline, instead, Sub-zero became a cyborg, but then Quan Chi made him human again when Sub-zero became his revenant after the fight with Sindel 3)Sektor was killed by Sub-Zero with the help of Cyrax. After Sektor got killed all the cyber lin-kuei took Cyrax as their new master, wich Cyrax didn't want, Cyrax then proceded to give the mantle of grandmaster to Sub-zero. Cyrax then blew himself up and all the cyber lin-kuei so that Sub-zero may start the lin-kuei again with a clean slate. Hope i cleared everything up for you!

This is more of a response to the things we want to see in MK11... 1. Jacqui is a great character...with that being said, yeah, she is not so interesting at all. 2. With the capabilities of modern tech, I don't see why the roster could not only be better (MKX was weak), but be much bigger, especially if we are talking PC and XBox One X and so forth. 3. Speaking of better tech, why not include old versions of MK, like why can't they program MKI or II in, amongst others? 4. Konquest. Konquest mode (preferably more like Deception) was pretty cool, maybe not for game play, but for that intimate interaction with all the different realms. Konquest provided an open world aspect to the series that included so many characters and stories for the MK lore. It was really cool for those who love the MK mythology. 5. Story does need to get better as you mention, but how about an honest and complete reboot. There is so many conflicting story lines that it is very easy for conflicting points and confusing plot, the story is seemingly tailored only for each title, but it isn't...I think? How about an ancient MK start over. Just go back to the original MK I stories and back track even further and move forward from there maybe. Something linear too, ya know. 6. No more Johnny Cage, outside of his nutpunch, does anyone really like him, especially after MKX's story mode? He sucked in '92, wasn't he dead? I thought he was dead. But, that was a long time ago I guess. 7. Being a guy putting quarters in the arcade trying to find Reptile, I'd like the community to stop whining about using special moves rather than endless tumbling. There is a reason why there is special moves; the combos back in the day was Scorpion's spear and an uppercut, that was it. Just saying, a win's a win, there is too many people that think everyone is supposed to fight the way they want them to fight back, just doesn't make any sense to me. Spamming special moves is the origin of the game, remedy that style (which is super easy), or deal with it, because ultimately spamming combos is fundamentally the same thing. I know how to do combos, but Jacqui is an easy win against those people who insist on aggressive, repetitive combos, sorry I'm not competing for the title of best MK fighter in the world. 8. Puzzle Kombat. 9. A female boss? Remember hard as hell Jade? Hard as hell Jade...all that work to get my a** beat in like 12 seconds...hard as hell Jade. Someone similar and new maybe. All those low kicks and... 10. Smoke, Jade, Noob, of course, but Havik, Ashrah (yeah, saw you mentioned her, nice), Nitara, Motaro, Frost, and Mavaro, why not explore these characters? As well as the characters that are talked about like Skarlet, Kabal, and Onaga. Maybe these characters do not have to be part of the story line in the game, but why does that mean they can't be in the game still? 11. Ed Boon and Co. needs to find a way to put a handful of hidden characters in the game that aren't found out within 24 hours in today's time. Figure that out, that'd be cool. Hell, put clues out about characters that cannot be found or played and get people going like how there was all that fuss about Ermac in MKI or NIMBUS TERRAFAUX! 12. Setting change. How about MK gets out of the Outworld and Earth and go explore Edenia, Zaterra, or the Chaos Realm even further. 13. Delia, Belokk, Maya, Jataaka, Zaggot, the Five Outworlders (MK:Special Forces), Kreeya, Nania (probably could go somewhere cool with this one and Maya), Omegis, Kia, Blue, and so on, all canon, too. 14. The gaming world and loyalty and respect of companies for fans and gamers is growing, how about no more micro-transactions. $1.99 here, $2.99 here...just for different outfits, come on. Easy fatalities+$4.99, very bad. Kombat Packs, $30, unlocking the entire krypt $20, characters not included in season passes, just bad. 15. Johnny Cage is dead I thought. I literally would rather have Hsu Hao or Darrius than Johnny Cage. Why!? He should be dead, why isn't he dead. Why won't he be dead!? I hate that guy. But, going back to the video you made, many things I do agree with as well, the music does suck now too, it was cool back in the day. More settings/arenas. 50/50s, totally get it.

thuking83 What the hell? Story and new characters are amazing. Many people love Johnny Cage, including me. I see team based up on him in MK mobile very often. He's awesome. He cares about his kid and wife while also being professional and amusing. Specially after MKX his values are truly shown. If you like wasting time on some reboot about things from 90s which have been around for like 25 years while there's story to be continued you could simple go back to your PS1 and play it. Who the hell wants reboot rather than this story continuing while you can play all characters with their klassic skins anayway. Only thing they should do is make Reptile more than minion and team him up with his ment to be girlfrend, and bring Smoke. MKX is rated very good, only few tweeks to make it excelent.

Hanzo is like a super saiyan he had the hellfire in him since birth he just had to get enraged and just as how goku lost krillin and piccolo and became a ss hanzo had to lose his family and clan when he was reborn he had created a connection to hell bringing him the power to even summon spirits from hell and going there whenever he wants(like gokus instant transmition)the spear does not come out of his hand dont get fooled by the movies in the cold war skin you can see how he has the spears on and the only tging he gained in hell was the teleportation and a spear enhanncement

Hence why they only came around for Cassie when fighting Shinnok, BC not only was her realm in danger but her father was directly in danger too. In old mk games Reptile looked human in combat but his fatality he pulled off his mask to show and literally ate opponent skulls. And he turned more reptilian in later games because of de-evolution. It's in one of his MK BIOS either deadly alliance or deception
