So no matter what order the spells get cast in, the Sorcerer is going to be on the stack when Ulamog's trigger is put on the stack (Ulamog's trigger will go on the stack above all of the spells you cast), so Kelsien could not target the Sorcerer.

Clutters up the stack but it's what it's there for.

Everyone kept poking each other and ignoring Jordan, Jordan should have been archenemy absolutely immediately. Every card in that deck seemed to be power, even the lands. Still, beauty of Commander is even when you have a game that's not that close and power mismatched, everyone can have a good time, get some archenemy action in, just laugh with friends. @@camael4209 Yes, that's definitely right. I'd never complain about your power level if you use your tutors on Kaldra pieces. @Sheriff_K2 жыл бұрын
@@SonnigesDeutschland Tutors can also be budget options. Like instead of running Parellel Lives AND Doubling Season, you can run 1 + a Tutor, and save half the cost.. Also nothing wrong with combo strats, imo combo wins are more fun to lose to than Voltron/combat (because if everyone dies at the same time, 1 player isn't left out twiddling their thumbs waiting for everyone else to finish.. Hence why I basically no longer make Voltron type decks.) But as for me, the main reason I try to limit Tutors isn't for any of those reasons, but mainly to make games feel different and not always the same (I'd rather see different cards and win in different ways, than just tutor for the same cards every game.) Though if 1 card is really important to your deck, then I'd run a Tutor for it.

All direct damage spells that target players can have the damage redirected to a Planeswalker. So things like shock or lightning bolt can hit Planeswalkers too, just fyi. Any card that says "target creature or player" specifically, that came out before dominaria is considered to instead say "any target". So they can still hit Planeswalkers, it's just different as to how. That's why they changed lightning bolt to say "any target" when they started to reprint it after that change. This is discussed in Gatherer: Each time Kelsien's last ability resolves, it creates a separate delayed triggered ability. If you untap Kelsien and activate its last ability multiple times in one turn, they'll each trigger when the appropriate creature or creatures die. Since they activated Kelsien's ability twice targeting the same creature, both delayed triggers will trigger when the creature dies and he gets two experience counters.

@@sigma7511 It's not dying multiple times. We just have multiple triggers that care about it dying. For example, if you control Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat in play and a creature you control dies, both abilities trigger. Blood Artist triggering doesn't stop the Cutthoat's ability from triggering, and vice versa. Since Kelsien's ability was activated twice targeting the same creature, there are two delayed triggers set up that will trigger if it dies later in the turn. Depends. They could have let Kelsien's ability resolve first before Jordan untaps Mangara and attempts to exile the Hero. Since that's the way they played, it seems that's what they went with.
@josephpayton75222 жыл бұрын
@@Natedogg2 it could work like that if that's what Jordan wanted to allow, but Jordan didn't want to pass priority back around the table. He took an action instead of passing and letting the damage resolve.

@@Natedogg2 Jordan wouldn't have wanted Murphy to have another experience counter so I see no way he thought about exiling Vito and then decided to let the experience counter triggering damage resolve and then exile Vito. All in all pretty easy to determine it was a mistake which no one is going to hate them for. It's just fun to point them out. Makes us plebs feel smart. 🤓
@Natedogg22 жыл бұрын
@@josephpayton7522 There was no indication one way or the other if they were letting the ability resolve or not. But since the players agreed on the game state and Kelsien triggering, it seems they're in agreement that they had let the ability resolved, even if they didn't make it explicitly clear with their words.

30:50 wait..... 1) Selvala needs mana to untap. Mana is gone after combat step...so how does he end up paying (G) to activate more mana? 2) Aggravated Assault untaps for THAT main phase....afterwards the creatures don't untap so only one creature with vigilance is getting attacks in right? Am I missing something?
@JordanPridgen2 жыл бұрын

So when he tapped Selvala the first time he had ten mana at his disposal and only used eight. Three to cast Aggravated Assault and then five to active its effect. He had two remaining to use and re-tap Selvala. Aggravated Assault's first effect untaps creatures for only five and he was gaining ten every time, allowing him to go infinite mana and infinite main/combat phases. Combat wise he had indestructible creatures because of Avacyn, and double damage take half thanks to his Gisela, Blade of Goldnight,

its more like no one stopped him. Usually a deck like olivia and Kodama can get just as out of hand, but almost all of the removal was targeted at jake and murphs creatures as they had the earliest board states, while ashlen seemed to have a slow draw in a deck that is about being resilient to removal, which is much better in long drawn out games.
