Basically every independent comic/pop culture store has to have a dedicated pop-vinyl section. I've never seen one without it since they've come out. I'm not even sure the store owners like them, but it's basically financial suicide not to carry them.

This might sound exaggerated, but this is one of my favorite videos on the entire internet. I've been through a lot of heavy shit since Dec 2019 when this came out and throughout it all I kept coming back to this specific video. People used to keep fresh (as opposed to dried or conserved) apples in barrels in root cellars for months at a time, easily up to or beyond a year. It's all about storing them right, although it will depend on the cultivar and some other variables. Apples keep really well though, they're excellent.

Before the pandemic, I was able to visit my sister who lives in Seattle. We went to Pike Place because my mom loves the blueberry waffles at one of the restaurants there. I adore the atmosphere there. I love the neon, I love that it's close to the water, I love the comic shop there. Because of this video, I bought a cosmic crisp apple the last time I was there. I haven't seen my sister in well over a year now, but watching this video helps me feel (at least a little) like I'm back in Seattle with her. ♡

For me, the most important thing about an apple is that it's really firm. I can't stand grainy, crumbly, floury-like apples. They need to be really firm, and juicy. I'm currently reading it and got to about chapter 140ish, it gets a bit action-y but in a good way! I really do hope you end up liking it if you decide to continue reading it! :)

@@jaylaanderson9702 that they do. Then again Johnny Appleseed lived here and we have one of the biggest apple themed festivals in the country. Cosmic Apples should be there next year, if one of my friends who works the event can be trusted. Also, you can buy these at Kroger now, so you probably have some less than a mile away from you if I now anything about Ohio.

@@anameofsomesort959 Woooow I haven't heard the name Johnny Appleseed in YEARS! I totally forgot about that! And yeah, Kroger was founded in Cincinnati (my hometown) so it's probably there. Edit: I forgot to say that I learned the other day that 8 bushels of corn can either feed a person for an entire year, or fill up one gas tank, which is a shame! If we can find a way to reduce the amount of corn used in unleaded gas, maybe we can give that to starving people who need it!

@@jaylaanderson9702 well, happy apple hunting! Also, a lot of the corn used in Ethanol and animal feed sadly is not the corn that we would necessarily eat. It's made for high yield and taste, nutrition is not a concern. Still plenty of Universities, like Purdue, are working on a higher yield, tastier and more nutritious corn. Sadly, it's purely a commercial concern, but hopefully it can be used to feed starving people both here and abroad one day, I hope that isn't too idealistic of me...

I love the transition of Ian's videos from "I dont know if anyone is gonna watch this" to "It's gonna be great, you're gonna love it" Also, as far as apple temperature preference goes, taste buds are less sensitive to cold foods, so a room temperature cosmic crisp might taste even sweeter

I'm in Everett and they've got them at Safeway here. Not even hard to find, you walk in the door and there's a display for them RIGHT THERE. Good marketing, everyone who came in was like "oh neat, apples" since they were right there.

I remember it watching a day or two after it came out, during the month I had to take from work due to a nervous breakdown I had. I’ve since got a new job, started writing again and moved in with my lovely girlfriend. Still uncertain and stressful times, but things have a way of improving. This video was a comfort then and its a comfort now.
