Unfortunately, easier said than done. I'm in Tampa, we are more inland here, not close to the water. I have pets, I have to work until they send us home, and every person in this area trying to evacuate will be on the road at the same time, and that can also be very dangerous in this situation. We have supplies, and unless they say a Cat 5 is coming, we will stay.

I live in the Big Bend and honestly, people in this region are already experiencing post -traumatic stress disorder. These storms violate all odds and statistical averages and insurance companies are very likely to go insolvent as a result. For seniors, the repeated threat and storm prep/evacuation are exhausting.

That would be the case if the storm had developed in the Caribbean but since it developed in the western Gulf of Mexico instead, the path the storm will take is the same direction as the windshear direction, and so will have no effect on the storm

Maybe someone should be talking about the projectiles sitting curbside amongst all the debris placed curbside for removal and possibly the mounds of sand built up around these homes that will not allow the water to flow but instead will hit these giant mounds of sand around these homes causing impact and immediate erosion and eminent wash out of those homes along the water. These homes will cease to exist and/ or be total losses. Think about it. Take everything you have left and leave immediately as there will be nothing left

It's not surprising YAH brings judgement on that area in the form of strong winds, with the sea and the waves roaring. What you see up in the sky coming from JETS are contrails NOT CHEM TRAILS!! Contrails form at high altitude from the jet exhaust which is CO2 and water vapor. The water vapor condenses out in the form of that white cloud behind the jet. Again those are contrails NOT chemtrails!!

Wow i wondered what happened to Brian. He was the only voice during andrew when we were living in homestead. First huge hurricane in 25 years, and everyone but him went to bed, including me. The husband woke me up to help put up a board on a window in the garage during the eye. Compared to a lot of homes we were lucky. Our very large trees fell around our house instead of on it. Brian was the voice on the radio then, and i really feel for those going through the hurricane destruction now and think8ng about the new storm coming soon as we live in central Florida

@@patrickm6012 Geeez I went through Andrew when I was in my 20"s It was more of a Wind Storm . Destroyed Homestead It sucked ... had to rebuild our house etc. A very long camping trip lol .. but after that I always head out of town when a major one is headed my way. Not worth the stress sitting through another.

@@patrickfanelli I am with you on that one my friend. I went through Andrew as well in my early 20s in west Kendall south of Kendall Drive. I would not stay for major hurricane.. Thankfully Brian was on the radio and kept us sane and making sure we were prepared.

Every. Single. Meteorologist/Storm Chaser I follow has gone RADIO SILENT since yesterday evening. I’ve never seen this happen, ever. There is something going on and it feels awful. No Hurricane Hunters in storm for 24 hours from storm formation yesterday. I have NEVER seen or even heard of that happening especially with a monster coming. To be clear I’m a 7th gen Floridian and serious weather nerd. No conspiracy just a complete abrupt stop and change in patterns been done for decades.

@@Realistic_Secret I can assure you nothing will be closed tomorrow. Next Wednesday or Thursday is another story. Florida doesn't close a week before a storm that may or may not hit. We wait until the day of the storm.
