The Phillies Show

Ай бұрын

Bryce Harper is having a MVP-caliber season as the Phillies have raced to the best record in Major League Baseball. He joined The Phillies Show before the team's trip to Europe to play the New York Mets in the 2024 London Series at London Stadium.
Harper discussed a wide range of topics in a fun and insightful interview:
- The Phillies' remarkable start and what he expects this summer and fall at Citizens Bank Park.
- How much winning a World Series with the Phillies would mean to him.
- The hilarious London Series promo he shot with Phillies legend Chase Utley and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" creator and star Rob McElhenney.
- A few surprises for fans in London, including a cool look for the Under Armour Harper 9 cleats, which debut in England.
- His love for the Phillie Phanatic.
- How he once used an autographed Pete Rose bat when he played for Team USA in Venezuela.
- Harper's love for baseball as a kid, and the incredible drills he and his dad did.
- His advice to parents who want to help their children play baseball.
Plus, much more!

Guys, I can’t stress enough that that was the best Bryce Harper interview ever. No doubt. Most interviews, he’s very guarded. He obviously felt extremely comfortable around the three of you. And he just let loose, and asked for more time for an interview? I don’t think an athletes ever done that. This was a five star gold interview. Congratulations on the success of the pod. Definitely the best. Phillies podcast out there.

These writers and Reuben are trusted by the players, they always were because they don't have agendas so Bryce and Chase who never really open up were able to talk freely during their entire interviews...if it was Eskin Bryce would have handled the interview the same way Beast Mode handles the press

It’s crazy how much Bryce has evolved as a player and a person since his debut. He deserves a ring man.

Genuinely not trying to pick a fight here, but could it be that the media has stopped trying to constantly paint him as a villain that makes him seem like he’s evolved over the years? No doubt he’s matured exponentially since being a 19 year old, but I can’t help but feel like the media has been giving him a far better deal over the last view years that has helped fans outside of Philadelphia appreciate him more. Probably a combination of the two now that I think of it
@jacrispy8008

@@h2owl205 Oh definitely you’re extremely right the media made him out to be the next coming of baseball jesus and he had a lot of hype and a lot of people hated him for it. Nobody loses their passion for baseball, they just replace it with other things. Speaking from experience, the people he interacts with will make all the difference. I threw away a potential career for people who ended up not caring about me ar all and whom I no longer speak to. Supportive parents are the key

Bryce is a true gem. None of the success has gone to his head. He’s very down to earth. His words about doing things to the best of our ability are truly inspiring. I wasn’t a fan when he was a National but then it dawned on me when he was a free agent that he would be a perfect Phillie. God has blessed us with Bryce and he seems to be a great teammate. Keep it up Bryce, you’re just getting started with the good work you’re doing.
