Bryce embodies Philadelphia more than any player I can think of in the modern era. Couldn’t ask for a better fit for the city, Bryce, and the organization. He’s worth every penny 👊

I’m not mad at the Bryce Harper love, he definitely fits Philly and represents us well. However, “Modern Era” players that rep and fit our city depends on what we consider Modern Era. At least for Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers, I’d say Bryce Harper, Chase Utley, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Nick Foles, Jason Kelce, Brian Dawkins, Lesean McCoy, Allen Iverson, Joel Embiid, (special shout-out to TJ McConnell). We love players with that extra something and when they get what the city and fans are all about.

Totally agree. I'll be honest I couldn't stand Bryce when he first came up ... When he stared down Cole Hamels after reaching first and scrapping his way home, the ensuing hit by pitch afterward etc etc etc..... Every year though, I saw more and more Pete Rose in the guy. A bit erratic like when he crashes himself bloody into the outfield wall, cutting his forehead with his own necklace lol. People started kinda attacking him for HOW scrappy he was. He Won me over long before he came to Philly and that's saying alot lol. But once he took a tad less millions, as we watched Machado go toward the sunny San Diego shores instead of Philly, and once I heard that Harper was asking Werth what it's really like to be part of Philly lore, I knew it was real. Yes I was won over by a lot of videos of just him at batting cages, or in leagues before the MLB, how knowledgeable he was of the true essence of the game. It's carried over a million fold. Taking a smaller contract than the other names mentioned that could have came to Philly at the time, and doing so just to enable the Phillies organization to be able to add more talent/depth, like JT Real, Turner, etc. .... All that plus the way he embraces the city he plays in, it's like throwback baseball. I knew his "power shortage" he went thru when he first came back earlier than expected from injury, was to get his timing back. He still hit for high average, gathered doubles and stole bags during the marathon the season is. But I knew the guy was hearing all the chatter, and I knew he would be back once the playoff time really hit. Different than teams running their legs off and swinging their shoulders out during the marathon while front running for record books. Let's see if Philly can dog deep tomorrow and close it out. Not saying they can't win another in ATL. I just don't want it to be like the world series where Philly took the ever important game 1 all thru the playoffs AND to start the world series, having the series lead more than once, only to go cold for the two games to finish the series. We know tomorrow is huge. GOTTA use the 4 (or 3 if you're being technical now) hours of heck to carry the team to the nlcs.

As a 56-year-old lifelong 4 for 4 diehard who suffered year after year after decade after decade after sport after sport, I would’ve given anything to have a season of one team in the city with legitimate chance to win at all. Let alone having what looks to be potentially all-time eras for both the Eagles *and* Phillies at the same time. The fact that is actually happening in front of our eyes is both thrilling and indicative that the apocalypse is near. So enjoy what we have y’all😂

I cried like a 60 yr old child when Bryce talks about US the fans. It’s just feels great, and to think it’s easy to stand for 9 inn and 27 outs screaming your head off it’s not, I’m exhausted. These comments this team this city makes it all worth it. See you all at the Bank take a small bow take a nap and let’s do it again tonight.

Braves guy here, I never had issues with Harper going back to his DC Nats days. He did his thing. Cool. I’m still waiting for my squad to play our game.

If Bryce would have stared at little Joe Morgan of the Reds back in the 70s , Pete Rose would have kicked his ass . I am waiting for Pete to call out Bryce for being such a prick .

Its pretty much on purpose just to get reactions from the player so that they can plaster one controversial quote without context everywhere and get clicks.

I love Bryce for this. I'm tired of the "we must remain civil" the stone face robot no passion old timers who play. Bring the shit talk, the passion and the egos. It what makes the game fun. Fight Phillies Fight, let's go.

Fun Fact... Ranger Suarez in 6 Postseason appearances has a record of 2-0 with an ERA of 0.98 in 17.4 innings pitched. He also has a Postseason Save! He's definitely the guy that needs to pitch tmw!! Lastly, If the Phillies can SOMEHOW win this series & The Dbacks also win(which appears to be the case) They will have home field advantage in the NLCS & If they can get back to the World Series they would have Homefield as well If they play The Astros.. If they have to play The Rangers they would have to go down to Texas for game 1 & game 2. ONE GAME AT A TIME THOUGH... GOTTA BEAT THE BRAVES #RedOctober
