One of my favorite symbols of 3 1/2 is when the disciples are trying to row across the sea of Galilee. And a storm comes up in prevents them,after doing all that they can it says that they had rowed three or 4 miles. It wasn’t three, and it wasn’t four so it was 3 1/2. we know that it’s 7 miles across the sea of Galilee. But the disciples are stopped short of completing their task of making it across the lake. It looks like the storm wins. Then Jesus comes, and in one of the gospels it says that when he stepped in the boat immediately they were at their destination. I love that story Jesus helps us complete our task! As long as we have Jesus with us, he will help us towards completion and perfection.

Im grateful for this video. When my mother was alive, the Saviour use to visit her during the earlier hours and tell her that her children needed to fulfill their assignments that they covenanted in the pre-existence. I have only recently learned of this event, where my mother's bishop was called to attend to my mother while she was living with my sister. The bishop was able to reveal to my older sisters what my mother had experienced with regard to the Saviour's visits and what he gave in the way of our pre-existent covenants. I've been inactive since the year 2,000, and from time to time, think about my mother's experience. Having stumbled across your videos, Im now more aware of the manner with which the Lord helps us to realise how much he loves us by providing the clues that will alleviate the unnecessary grief of doing things the hard way. Thank you for your knowledge, your insight and the blessing bestowed upon you by God almighty to help sinners like me to better understand the liahona of faith, even the faith of my ancestors, the Nephites. Im so grateful. God Blesss.

I learned years ago via prayer and pondering that the number 7 with regards to the perfection model also applies to children. When they turn 8, accountability begins. But before that. Jesus teaches that children are so precious and innocent before God that they can behold His face. This is why the also teaches that if anyone harm one of them, they get the millstone sentence. That’s not to say you can go around hurting any child older than seven without condemnation. It’s just that there is something so very special and guarded about children during the first 7 years of their mortal existence. 💝 i’m looking forward to learning more about this once I get back home to the other side of the veil. 🙏🏻🤗

Temple worship ?
@michaellindstrom8402 Жыл бұрын
@@Lilliofthevale I understand your confusion. Sometimes words used by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can seem strange. "Temple worship" does not mean the idolatrous worshiping of a physical building. No, it means going to the Temple (a physical building) to worship God and keep his commandments; to partake of the special ordinances and covenants made therein. To faithful and worthy members, temple worship is perhaps the highest form of worshipping God that there is. Understanding the symbology makes it even more so.

Thank you. So much for us to consider and pray about. I considered 1260 days. Literally, I subtracted 1260 from 1820 and got 560. In reading a journal of a Bask brother, it was stated that his ancestors continued to live the gospel, after the death of the apostles for 500 years. I then considered Moroni last writing to 421 A.D. I've wondered for awhile how long Moroni lived afterward? So, could there have been people remaining? Well, the Spirit just said to me that "the Woman" is the Church, organized and functioning, with priesthood power among its members, and the "keys" to do His work. Anyway, I thought, could there have been priesthood keys operating in small branches of the church up to 520 A.D.? Maybe. I then thought of the Apostle John and the 3 Nephites remaining on the earth after the deaths of the other 9 Apostles. Could they have been among isolated branches of faithful members up to 520? Maybe. Somehow I feel in my heart that there were significant numbers of faithful members, living around the Mediterranean region, and in North America, and they didn't all of a sudden disappear. I think they continued to try to believe and live as the Savior and His Apostles, Bishops, etc. taught. The number 520 is not important, but it has got me asking questions about what the saints did after their leaders were taken, and for how long. I served among the Hopi and it is apparent that their sacred rites come from Israel, without the guiding influence of priesthood keys they have been altered. Many other peoples have the same cultural rites reflective of the Saviors Gospel. I would like to research this question further.

I have often thought about the two colors Scarlet(Bright Red) and Crimson(Dark Red) They are both the color red. What is the symbol for red (blood) yes he Atoned drops of blood in Gethsemane and on the cross laid down his life for all of us. So we have the color red which represents blood, and sin atonement repentance, but we have two shades of red,. What do these two shades represent? Could they be types of sins? One is scarlet is bright and easy to notice the other is crimson is dark symbolic of being hidden and may not be seen by others and perhaps unseen even by ourselves. Brother Bryce, I am interested in your thoughts here, please.. I love the picture of the army in white and Jesus in Red. Beautiful imagery!

Great explanation of 7 and 3.5years. I recommend reading Jonathan Cahn’s book: Mystery of the Shmetah. Basically it explains the Biblical Jewish 7yr cycle. You will start to see it EVERYWHERE in scripture and in current times. Joseph Smith’s first vision (fullness, completeness, restoration) was in the 7th year of a Shmetah cycle. FASCINATING!

It goes so much with what I was thinking with the creation. I imagine it like the creation of a baby. The firmament which separates the water above and on earth which can be compared to the placenta. The Sun, Moon, Star luminaries = the three states that each human being can become. The plants are attached to their mother's earth = the baby is attached to its mother by the umbilical cord. Animals are not directly connected but need the earth = after birth the baby is disconnected from its mother but still needs it. Subsequently there is the creation of man which is comparable to the new birth in the gospel. There is certainly a video to be made on the creation in 6 days.
@aosthed Жыл бұрын
He gets to this point around minute 8 but I think it can be emphasized. We should be careful and gentle with how we use symbols - they are packed with implicit (in cased / folded) meaning and messages; so, when we make them explicit (unfold them), we risk limiting or even misunderstanding / misapplying them. A symbol is like a joke or a poem, the easiest way to ruin it is to explain it. 😊 So, yes, “7” can be seen as “completion” but it also contains many other meanings that are folded into it. This is true for all the numbers found or used in scriptures (but also all ancient books / stories / legends / myths) - they contain psychological structures that are best understood with imagination and intuition. Not that we can’t reason them out (per se) but that in doing that we risk limiting it or even breaking it. For example, to understand 7 more, one could look at the meaning of the numbers that precede it or even make it up. Again, these ‘meanings’ encode psychological intuitions not a definite limitation. “1” can has a sense of ‘oneness’ that can be both a ‘wholeness’ as in my physical body is one whole structure or it can be a singular part or fraction or ‘fact’ (a cut / piece) of something - like one whole pie or one part of the pie. “2” begins to express the nature of pairs - dualities or couples, a pair of ‘opposites’ or ‘compliments’ (pleasure & pain, light & dark, male and female, intuition and reason, letter and spirit) or a pair of ‘sames’ like that make a whole (like man and woman) or just two men or two women or a mother-son or a mother-daughter, etc. “3” is both a new idea AND the sum of “1” (the unity / part) and “2” (duality / compliment / opposite) … in this way the Godhead represents these 3 things - the physical life / way of living / the rod (Jesus) and the energizing force or intuition or inspiration (Spirit) and the unity / oneness of these things (God the Father). Psychologically these are deep ideas that emerge with our conceptualization of numbers - the way we use numbers today in the modern age is far downstream of how they came (or come) to us as people. So, I love what Bryce is talking about, but let yourself intuit or imagine what it *could* mean for you - and as you contemplate (he suggests this) new ideas and teachings emerge almost ‘as if’ subconsciously… this is the correct use of symbols. Allow them to be powerful and (in a sense) living (shifting and moving). “7” is 3 (1+2) the divine / spiritual / heavenly world PLUS 4 the material / earthly / physical world in that there are 4 corners / walls / cardinal directions / ancient elements that made up the physical world to mankind over the ages. So, “7” as ‘completion’ works but it also encapsulates 3+4 or (1+2)+4 as the completion of HEAVEN and EARTH the ‘totality’ of existence or creation. But, as you open yourself to letting the symbols dance a little, you’ll notice that you’ll intuit new ways to look at them and *if they seem to fit* the overall message / sense you have for it, then it may be the right way to consider them. Anyway, I love that he is encouraging members of the church to move into the rich symbolic world!

I’m a little confused about 1260 days… 365x3.5=1,277.5 If you account for leap year… 364.25x3.5=1,274.875 I understand that, yes 1260 fits into 1274. You mention “Don’t take the symbols too literally” so then should I understand the numerics more loosely? In other words, the numbers are close enough? Or is there something that I’m missing? Can you help me understand. Thank you

Yes. Look at the pattern all around that number. Everything points to 3.5. Do we understand the solar year a little bit better than they did back then? Most definitely. But the pattern seems clear. Time, times, and half a time. 42. Three days and a half.

David A Bednar, April 2019: Indeed, temple preparation is most effective in our homes. But many Church members are unsure about what appropriately can and cannot be said regarding the temple experience outside of the temple. President Ezra Taft Benson described why this uncertainty exists: “The temple is a sacred place, and the ordinances in the temple are of a sacred character. Because of its sacredness we are sometimes reluctant to say anything about the temple to our children and grandchildren. “As a consequence, many do not develop a real desire to go to the temple, or when they go there, they do so without much background to prepare them for the obligations and covenants they enter into. “I believe a proper understanding or background will immeasurably help prepare our youth for the temple … [and] will foster within them a desire to seek their priesthood blessings just as Abraham sought his.” Two basic guidelines can help us achieve the proper understanding emphasized by President Benson. Guideline #1. Because we love the Lord, we always should speak about His holy house with reverence. We should not disclose or describe the special symbols associated with the covenants we receive in sacred temple ceremonies. Neither should we discuss the holy information that we specifically promise in the temple not to reveal. Guideline #2. The temple is the house of the Lord. Everything in the temple points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ. We may discuss the basic purposes of and the doctrine and principles associated with temple ordinances and covenants. President Howard W. Hunter counseled: “Let us share with our children the spiritual feelings we have in the temple. And let us teach them more earnestly and more comfortably the things we can appropriately say about the purposes of the house of the Lord.” Across the generations, from the Prophet Joseph Smith to President Russell M. Nelson, the doctrinal purposes of temple ordinances and covenants have been taught extensively by Church leaders. A rich reservoir of resources exists in print, audio, video, and other formats to help us learn about initiatory ordinances, endowments, marriages, and other sealing ordinances. Information also is available about following the Savior by receiving and honoring covenants to keep the law of obedience, the law of sacrifice, the law of the gospel, the law of chastity, and the law of consecration. All Church members should become familiar with the excellent materials available at temples.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

If anything in one of my video breaks one of those guidelines, point it out and I’ll correct it. But being afraid to say anything is not helping the students I teach prepare for or love the temple. If you read the comments on these videos, they seem to be helping people prepare for and love the temple better.
