That doesn't even make sense for the media to be down on the Panthers for benching Bryce. By any objective measure, he needed to be benched. The only reason to keep him on the field would be to tank, but that would be pretty damaging to more than just Bryce Young.

I agree with Steve. Continuing to start Bryce is counterproductive at this point since he wasn't learning anything.

The Carolina Panthers are broken in all areas of football, not just the quarterback. If you leave that quarterback out there, you're also not going to be able to find what else is wrong with the roster. I suspect it's more than just the quarterback. The entire offense is not executing and they're playing terribly.

Excellent take by Steve on the Bryce situation! Canales did what was best for the team but ultimately what was best for Bryce. Hopefully Bryce will take a step back, embrace this experience, learn, grow and come back better than ever. It is extremely difficult for a Quarterback to be drafted number one overall and be thrusted into the starting position. Give these kids time to learn and get comfortable especially when you’re viewed and expected to be a leader of men. He came into an awful situation in Carolina which only got worse, I believe he will benefit greatly from this. Excited to witness his growth when he returns, it’s not over for him in Carolina.

Bryce is trash. I partially blame Smitty for his interview with Bryce basically saying he wanted Bryce to be the #1 pick. Steve Smith also said Jonathan Mingo was the real deal... Only 459yds in 17 games. Averaging roughly 27yds per game, averaging less than 43% catch per targets (meaning he's only catching just under 43% of targets coming his way), ZERO touchdowns. He has more fumbles than touchdowns. Granted, he's averaging just over 13yds per reception this year, but he's only caught 3 balls in 2 games. We currently have Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen, two developmental receivers, and an aging vet in David Moore. In my opinion, Steve Smith is part of the reason Bryce sucks. Stop whispering in David Tepper's ear Smitty. I love you 89, but you're not a roster builder. You might like a guy, but that doesn't necessarily mean that guy fits into the narrative of building a roster for a specific scheme.

Baker Mayfield & Sam Darnold.. both went through the Panthers and had their "second chance" there, but like you guys said, maybe it was the best thing for them because they're looking pretty good now. Derek Carr is looking pretty good in New Orleans. I hope the Panthers and the fans can take a step back and see this as, "We're going back one season, using Andy Dalton to do what he was brought to Carolina to do: mentor Bryce and shoulder the role of a veteran QB on the field." Andy knew he was brought in for that, Bryce did too, but the coaching staff and GM last year decided to keep Bryce in when it was apparent last season in Week 3 at Seattle, with the same OL and offense Bryce had, Andy could do WAY better. That should have been the sign that Bryce needed to sit and to let Andy serve as a teacher and mentor to develop Bryce into the most effective version of himself that would emerge when Bryce was ready. Bryce isn't ready. Doesn't mean he's done at this point but it will be if we keep messing with the fruit before it's ripe to the point where it's ruined and rotting because we busted it open and then left it to "ripen".

To paraphrase Smith Sr not everyone at his age dealing with all the hype and more importantly the on field leading responsibility of a 30 year old organization from competing at a college level to PRO ATHLETES AND GROWN MEN is going to handle the transition well that NEEDS to be addressed more like 89 stated knowing the value of how great Jordan love or brock purdy is having not started their ENTIRE full first years but let's give him his flowers for the poise under pressure he's dealt with the last season especially given the current state of this team at an all time low. And with an offensive genius like Canales with that Superman level of positivity things hopefully will turn around for the franchise for the fans to keep believing in because we that bleed these colors want to see this team get back to those winning seasons from 2013-15 and 2017 with the legacy of talent we've had 🙏🏾🙏🏾🖤💙.

Bengals should put their money in OL & DL and have a more balanced offense. We should be the best landing spot for new QBs and skill players but let them know from jump that Bengals aren't signing no more stars on these ridiculous contracts that handicap the entire team. Rather have a great team and cycle through QBs & WRs every 4-5 years... but never use the tag unless it's the one where players can seek a trade
