Couple of things that I find interesting 1) He stands straight up at the beginning, and 2) His left foot is on his toes at the top of his swing (undoubtedly helps his transfer of power). He has his own thing going on that works well for him.

Without his shirt and the way the background is framed really helps to see what’s actually going on in his swing. The shoulder turn as others have mentioned is crazy and much easier to see here. But what I was looking at was where I struggle most and that’s using the lower body in the swing. You can see in the takeaway his hip line is at the top of the tree line. And at transition he really “sits” so he can clear the hips during rotation. Another thing I noticed was where his weight is on his back foot. A lot of people, myself included, push off the toes of both feet during transition. You can actually see the front of Brysons trail shoe kind of lift a little, indicating he’s pushing off his back heel until right before impact where he uses the front his foot to kinda “jump” and get that vertical ground force. Interesting stuff. Not sure if I’ll be able to retrain myself to get that move at my age, but I’ll certainly try to work on that.

As a Brit, it was sad to see Rory come up short in the US open in the manner that he did. However Bryson did deserve the win. His playing style is incredible. On his game, he's takes tournament play to another level. As a senior player, he's great box office. Grinding out that par on 18 from the bunker took real guts under that pressure. If he stays out of the trouble, dont bet against him in the (British) Open championship. Knows how to work a crowd too!

@81mccabe58

@Hero I’m speaking from experience about injuries, I started at 4 years old, I was was born with fast twitch muscles, the ability to throw a ball very far and with power, I was also an extremely long hitter especially with driver, I won club championships in Scotland, played in Monday qualifying out here and my distance was the biggest factor, I’d even call it somewhat degrading to other opponents who were in my groups, but they will all be playing to this day whereas I now have no L5-S1 disc left and my sacral joints are fusing on their own….. I know all to well how this stuff comes back to haunt us, and…. I didn’t have to train to develop that speed which puts even more stress on the body. Look at Koepka, another heavy trainer, guys openly said he can’t stay fit for a full season. Training as Brooks, Bryson and Tiger did will deplete your body, that’s a fact. Cameron Champ, Tony Finau , those two don’t get injured because they just have amazing speed without shifting 100lbs weights and squatting 250lbs.

Straight left arm, shoulder rotation, stare at the ball, it’s supposed to work for everyone but somehow 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got 2 blasters from target a week ago, had pink parallels, got a nice wander, trout, Ohtani, and a heart of the city judge plus 3 Sapias

Distance and ball speed are fun. But he was missing fairways and scrambling at the US Open. No disrespect, but long drive swings can lead to trouble

Bryson's backswing is quick. Look at the shaft bend on his pro-tour level X-Stiff shaft.

I watchdd a vid of him practising for long drives and he was saying his shaft is soft/regular flex

@@justingallant8558yeah for long drive. You get more of a whip effect which can lead to more distance. The shaft he plays on tour is x stiff because he has to hit a target that isn’t as wide as a football field

When you consider his golf swing is actually not that efficient mechanically compared to a Mike Austin type swing, he sure does smash it out of the park. Not quite the 515 yards with balata ball and persimmon but still great... certainly more accurate and repeatable than Austin's a good trade off for tour golf
