Excellent video. Pardon my ignorance but I have a 1955 B33 and I thought the B31 was a side valve, which obviously it's not. What's the difference between a B31 and a B33?

Thanks for the comment, Basically the B31 is 350cc OHV and the B33 is a 500 OHV They very much look the same but there are quite a few subtle differences. I you check out your parts book there are quite a few different part numbers for what looks like the same part. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Brian

Excellent video. Would you post details of the 6v battery you used - on the assumption you replaced it?

Hi, I used 2 small 6v sealed batteries with spade connectors wired parallel. They fitted the box ok

Thanks for this Brian, really enjoying following along. I have a question please.... your new side stand, I am wondering if it gets pinned to the swing chain stay or is it just in place with clamping pressure. I also have a B31 frame but with with a B33 motor. Frame is a 1953 and my side stand is a bit bent and when looking at it I was wondering if a pin or something stops the clamping assembly from wanting to spin on the frame stay? Not sure if I should maybe heat the stand and bent it straight or buy a new one.......thanks again. Looking forward to you firing it up......wayne

Wayne, I had some issues with the side stand, it was oversize so I turned a split bush to take up the gap. This failed to hold the stand in place so I ended up drilling through the stand and frame and fitting a SS bolt to hold it in place, I wasn't happy about drilling the frame but it now hold firm. Look like it's nearly ready for the road to me!! I thought you were going to start the engine up when I saw the carb with the fuel line connected to it.

David, I was hoping to start the engine in this episode but I coudnt stop the carb from flooding. I will be posting the Final Episode in a few days which explains. Thank for the comment
