This particular track (and it's radio edit) helped me to unserstand what makes Deadmau5 great. It's the build, the anticipation and the spaces in-between that he pulls off so well. It's not just a full 3 or 4 minutes of song and fuck off to the next one. He takes you through a process, lays the atmosphere and plays through it. Can easily listen to this for the full 9 minutes.

I think you just put into words what I’ve felt about mainstream EDM for a long time now. I grew up with trance, hardstyle, and DnB/jungle. One of the defining features of 90s and early 2000s EDM was that most songs had buildup and played for several minutes. It felt like the average song length was at least 6-7 minutes. With post-2010 mainstream EDM however, track lengths have severely shortened and they “get to the point” much sooner. Personally I feel it leaves a lot to be desired, which is why I appreciate deadmau5 because he has such a technical command over his equipment that he can build a complex rhythm and have it captivate listeners without boring them.

--------- If I flew to Japan, and stood beside the waves with you, dance across your face (with you.....) would we forget that we were strangers If I was there to take it in And walk between the change in spaces And danced a light in altered places Would a fire begin ? Gone on a fast train Oceans of blank space High on an aeroplane Bridged by a lightwave I went back in time, remove the doubt, would that still chase us, would we still at lust creatives, will we start to climb, if our dimentions where the same, and I could touch you in the flesh, fold the time and space between us, :'/ wheels fall off, theyre mine, shaddows on our stage, if I'm without a face, nothing in our wheigh, over the 3D place.... All but a 3D place, over the 3D place. Bridged by a lightwave He passed this letter to me: chent saus, because I don't know much English, tell me anything and I'll correct it. by the way, could you give me your interpretation of the lyrics? Pueden darme su interpretación de la canción? Gracias Igual *hago música* y por ello me gusta saber lo que interpretan otros de otros artistas 🖤

This song is pretty deep poetic stuff. I think it is about that magic feeling you can sometimes get from traveling, or like the transistions and distance in general. Like how light travels, and it is a love song as well, drawing a paralel to the connection or distance between humas. It is a beautiful artwork in the sense that it could meen diffrent things to diffrent people, and I think only deadmau5 and Kiesza could really tell what they meant about evry line. I changed a few things in the lyrics because that is like how I interpit it in my twisted mind. I went back in time, but the lyrics is "If I went back in time". remove the doubt is "remove the boulders that still chase us". and "wills fall in their minds" and "nothing in the way". I think, not sure about this at all as I am not a native English speaker either.

The singer sounds like she is imagining a connection that cannot exist by conventional means. Perhaps the person she is singing about has passed away, is someone from her past who may have grown (but she is remembering the person from the original time). Perhaps she's even talking about something immaterial, like the idea of love or a creator or a memory of peace in the fall air playing in the leaves with her parents. She cannot bridge the relationship. So she asks if abstract concepts (like bending spacetime) could join her with the subject.

When it says they were bridged by a lightwave, I understand, is that they were together one day in the past. When you think about general relativity (yes) two objects that were together in the past and become distant are connected in the lightcone, therefore "bridged by a lightwave", and if they were able to recreate the conditions of that time they were together (fly to Japan, stand beside the waves, bend the time and space) and "remove the boulders" that separated them that would allow them the "not be strangers" or "a fire begin". Other references about GR appear on mentioning "only a 3D space" (where there is no time, so it doesn't passes and they're still together) or going on a "fast train" or on an airplane which its route is the lightwave that connects both spaces (that were "altered"). Well, this makes sense for me, as a physicist, haha

Quick story. Me and my man, the love of my life, worked at Walmart, overnight stocking. They play this song, every single night. Without chance. I always would try and catch the lyrics and find the song later but every time my search came up with nothing. After about a year now of both of us working elsewhere, he decided to go back to Walmart, they pay pretty well. I told him listen out for my song, he had heard it too but never remembered the words. Tonight, out of the blue he messages me "I'm on a plane, over a bridge of light way". And here I am. Life is so funny. I love this man. That's not the lyrics but it got me where I needed to be.
Strobe 2D, even. Now to wait for 2031 when Joel releases something to do with light cubes idk
