Just recently found your channel and have been digging through all the videos - love your technical analysis of the little and big details that is understandable to the layperson. I don't know if it's in your personal interest to make such videos, but I think it would be neat to see a similar analysis of aerodynamic details on more everyday vehicles (VW Golf, etc) and their implications. Either way, thanks for great videos!

Outstanding video which highlighted the important points. The change away from push rod suspension raises a few questions and I am curious about Laptimes and compared to the SVJ. Especially in sectors were power is not the main factor and suspension and weight will be. On the other hand a new car with a V12 without direct injection in 2030 is somewhat nice.

yeah man I know its packaging reasons but damn it will be a different car, thats the only thing keep in me away from buying it aahahahaha, just kidding but I feels it kinda lost a bit of it's identtity and it might be the only downgrade compared to the aventador,( and the added whight for sure, but theres nothing you can do there ) overall very interesting approach, should be an interesting car to drive

I think it makes perfect sense that the electric-only range is so short; Lamborghini knows their customer base mostly want the car for it's V12, and you get to crawl around tight and quiet spaces without disturbing the peace too badly. Off-topic; What do you make of Marcos Marques's comments about Audi once considering a RWD, 6-speed manual RS3-engine version of the 2nd gen R8?

So that means the Aventador is a better track car, weaved carbon is lighter and a push rod suspension is more superior than a conventional suspension. minus the electric motor n dct. I think the Aventador should be a better cornering car. Am i correct?

@@BSport320 i mean there are tuners out there that can change the diff on the Aventador. Like when I used to have a Ford mustang I changed my differential to a t2r torsen diff from an open diff. This rear wheel haunch thing, the way it's pushed forward (best seen at 8:55), reminds me of the LMP/Hypercar design trends. I wonder if Lamborghini/Ligier are going to adapt this styling element to the LMDh car.

Ok so if you have a powerful E motor in your gearbox, why do you need a big, heavy DSG? Why can’t you use the E motor to smooth out the gear changes?
@BSport320 Жыл бұрын
I guess that would mean you need some battery charge for smooth gear changes. It would add complexity and this is still a (simple) V12 car with some electric support.
@pklimbic Жыл бұрын
@@BSport320 you could make a single clutch that is relatively slow and smooth, and let the customers know that if they want fast, smooth changes their battery needs to have a certain degree of charge. Or you could even introduce a button that the customer can press five minutes before he’s at his destination, which will tell the system to charge the lithium battery using regen.. I don’t think this would be a problem for the customers.
@pklimbic Жыл бұрын
But of course, it would add a lot more complexity, at least as far as development is concerned. I personally hate gearboxes except for what Ferrari did for the front wheel drive units on their 12 cylinder cars, that was extremely elegant and clever. Of course, the question is whether your electric motor is on the gearbox output shaft or on the engine side. If you want to starter function, you will need it on the engine side. Hmmmmmm. I guess engineering can be complicated, can’t it?😝😝

Lovely car. Even though its just an update, I wonder whats the real world performance.
@ambergris5705 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure you can say it's just an update... they changed the whole position of the gearbox after all, not a small change. It's arguably bigger of a shift than when Lambo updated the Diablo to make it the Murcielago, and no one will call the Murcielago just a Diablo as far as I know. Plus you've got all the electric stuff, and with a full carbon tub and more than 1k hp, I'm not sure the Lambo is behind the curve
@kskdtr Жыл бұрын
an update?! the engine has been redesigned from scrath, gearbox totally different... they moved from a pre-preg (top and perimetral parts) and rtm (tub) to a pre-preg (top), rtm (rocker ring and front sub-frame) and forged carbon (tub and front firewall) monocoque; different suspension

@@AR_434 Well, park your Lambo anywhere and the first thing you'll be asked will be: "How much horsepower does it have?" Nobody will ever ask you how much it weighs, or how well it drives. This way the Lambo owner can say "over 1000" and the onlooker will be awed. Instant success!
@cashbonanza963 Жыл бұрын
On Lambos website it states that it weights 1772kg "dry". With 50kg of fuel, accessories and an adult I guess it'll be close to 2000kg
@test987665 Жыл бұрын
@@cashbonanza963 Lamborghini's "dry weight" is bullshit, though. The Aventador's stated dry weight was 1575kg, but the cars weighed 1800kg in reality (without driver). So add the same amount of weight gain to the Revuelto and you are at 2000kg. It's also possible that it could gain less weight than that, but it probably won't.
@test987665 Жыл бұрын
I am not terribly impressed. We've been repeatedly told that the Urus is good because the money it makes can be used for the development of the supercars, and they made 10 different special versions of the Aventador - which make the manufacturer look bad but at least it should be bringing them big money - but for their new flagship they still re-use both the monocoque and the engine. The Aventador had a waiting list for almost its entire production run. So where has all the money gone? Not into the chassis, not into the engine, not into any lightweighting efforts judging from how the car is 200kg heavier than the Alu chassis SF90 with a bigger battery... I do love me a big V12 Lamborghini, but on the technical side it's pretty hard to take them seriously. The Aventador was already a big car, but instead of doing a better packaging job with the Revuelto, they instead just make it even bigger (which, inevitably, will make it even heavier)! 79mm longer wheelbase, 24mm taller, 3mm wider, 167mm longer. The scuttle is still high limiting visibility (and hence why they probably had to increase the height instead of making the seat sit lower), the luggage and interior stowage space is still nothing to write home about. The car is reportedly sold out for the next 2-3 years, so that's all good and well, but that's pretty much just them taking advantage of the fact that their clientele has low standards. Does the car look aggressive? Does it sound good? Is it somewhat fast? Yes? Then that's job done!

"forged" is an incorrect term for that technology... it is just to sound "cool"... it is "compressed molding"... In steel, "forged" means "increased properties"... in this case...
