BT Express is still what it was in those days. You can pick up the music, hear it, dance to and it's not out of date. A lot like Sly and The Family a few years earlier. I kind of felt then that people would still be listening, and they are.

Barbara Joyce added more to this group than people realized! She left after the third album. The band was never quite the same for me afterwards. First 3 records are incredible! I recently just bought the first 3 LP's! Loved this group as a child and still do! Timeless.

The sight of all that natural hair makes me sad that our boys and girls today are doing that bad stuff to themselves and their scalps, but the George Foreman Movie brought me here - thanks. Every FUNK band back in the day had that Eddie Kendricks dude that hit those notes on top.

Don't you worry hermano cus entiendo and seeing what you're saying cus it just so happened that I too was 10years old when this song and it's follow-up hit,"Express"were big hits on the air and TV waves during that time. Gives us both terrific memories of being a kid. I'm 59 now and still jamming this baaaaad song. This song will always signify how our childhood memory is a treasure.

Man! Spring 1975, The follow-up jam is "The Express "! Had been rotating on So.Cal.Soul Station XEPRS 1090AM heard in both in San Diego,LA cities. I was 10. Saw 2 disaster movies;Airport 1975 at a local drive-in which was my first attendance at one,Earthquake at the theatres in a simulated loud stereo system called Sensaround giving the audience the experience of what the LA City was going through which unfortunately I sustained nightmares from it, had a huge Matchbox toy car collection,my family and i got a puppy named King who grew to a german shepherd which unfortunately passed on 11 years later in 1986,and became a Six Million Dollar Man fan,(never missed an 8pm Sunday Night schedule).What great childhood i had in the 1970s.

Barry? Are you the same Barry Richards that was a radio personality in Slidell, Louisiana in the late 70's and early 80's?!? (I believe the station was WAIL?) If you are--I was a teen during that time; and I wanna thank you--for giving me lasting memories of those times. "This is B.R. telling you that: If B.R. ain't on your box?...then your box ain't on!!." Thank You, sir--for the wonderful radio-listening memories.🤗 Blessings 🙏

I remember this song as a kid. That early 70s soul. By 1973-&up that old school soul music became funky. Then the synthesizer completely changed the game.
@omardavis16226 ай бұрын
Yup. The Mizell Brothers, Donald Byrd, John Hammond, Roy Ayers, Kool & The Gang, Parliament - Funkadelic, Roy Ayers kinda created that bridge. Oh them synthesizers were there for a min. Remember Junie Morrison went crazy back in like '72 #FunkyWorm then Bernie Worrell took it to the next step. Changing bass from guitar to keyboard. #Epic
