Once he said that he has no Ham Radio license - I started to understand why I totally disliked the way this dude is talking about radios as if they were nothing more than something to make fun of and hoping that with a dose of "sarcasm" and filthy double-tongued crap will appeal to those who are too bored to think on their own. Click-bait at its "best" - for those who fall for it.

I ran across this radio while surfing the Amazon a few days ago. Went back today to give it another look and was ready to buy, but decided to see what Mr Boofwang himself had to say. Given your plenty of words about this, I will now be committing to spend a specified quantity of monies from your link for more listening pleasure. Although the 6.9 page manual is exciting, I am particularly looking forward to the ability to have channel zones for the memory. I do a lot of scanning so being able to scan only selected channel groups is like a gift from zenu himself. Thank you very much! BTW, I currently have a pair of UV-5RM radios and they also appear to use the same battery as the BFF8HP pro and the other ones you showed in your video. Yay!

How many people do you think buy radios with gps functions who have no idea how to use GPS coordinates to locate anything without some other technology that already uses GPS, such as a cellphone running a map app? "Send me your coordinates..."..."bro, we're talking simplex from 400 yards away; I can see you right now.."

7 years ago I bought a BF8HP for $30. When everyone was buying UV5Rs. Just seemed like a better radio at the time. But this with USB-C, and a third band seems like a nice investment for another HT to add to the party. Might even replace my F8HP that I usually use when outside the vehicle. Assuming its better than the last UV5R I bought, that the clip for the battery broke after changing it once or twice. I have just always liked the way the speaker grill looked on the F8HP more than the usual UV5Rs. So its cool they kept it.

I like your channel, keep it up, thanks. I would like to say that I have a pair of these radios (Baofeng BF-F8HP handhelds) and think highly of them, except for one rather important operating characteristic: that is the commonly reported on youtube issue dubbed "the very annoying geiger counter sound" on receive while moving down the road, which basically renders them useless when traveling! Both of my HT's do this consistently. But honestly, I have not done extensive testing with alternate antennas or radio setting to try to minimize this. BTW, the Midland GXT 1000's do not exhibit this phenomenon AT ALL! Whatever Midland does, it works perfectly, thou I loose the whole reason I bought the Baofeng's for.

I have so many Chinesium radios already, I’m waiting for one that does APRS around this price range. I feel like they’re pretty close to that since they already have all the hardware. They might just need a little more processing power for the firmware side. But this one really did catch my interest. I thought about getting this with the extended battery and the Nagoya tri-band antenna.

Uvk5 plus is open for ham and gmrs and it costs around 30 dollars. It tx on 1.25m, 2m, 70cm and on GMRS. Not sure but Baofengs renamed as BTECH, seemed to be much more expensive. Reminds me when b&d made dewalt and professional power tools. The only difference was the color but one was much more expensive even though made on same assembly line, same people, same parts and same quality standards.

Ive probably got a dozen cradles that i have lost or misplaced the bricks for and each time i want to use one i have to search through a massive box of bricks ( where you need a magnifying glass to check the output voltages ) and then verify that it has the corresponding proper plug , much less hassel to just use usb c and be done with it . (Although i suspect spme of the cradles offer faster charge times due to higher output voltages ) Jmo Ps now looking at a rather large pile of lesser baofengs wishing i had never bought them , will probably sell them all as a bundle on craigslist to cover the purchase of a second bf f8hp pro , just sayin
