Your reactions are just like mine when I discovered BTS & wondered why I was so late to the party. At my age, I thought I had seen it all & kinda chked out of music scene bec no depth. So when I realized these artists can not only write, compose & produce their own music but also incredible dancers, vocalists & rappers & all 7 are astounding individually & together they blow ppl away - I was hooked. Then I started watching all the explanation & theory vids & I was even more in shock. What other artists on the planet has this many layers? NONE. BTS even created their own alternate reality referred to as Bangtan Universe where each member is cast in a different role w a whole backstory in order to address issues like alcoholism, child abandonment, bullying, poverty, mental issues & problems at home. There are even webtoons & a journal bk. Yes BTS deserves all the success and recognition they are receiving bec they alone are raising the bar for what great artists - legendary artists look like. That’s why ARMY is so diverse, intelligent, compassionate, loyal & in this for life because we know legends are rare & can never be duplicated. There will never ever be another BTS!💜

GoGo and Spine Breaker are like Baepsae. Especially GoGo sounds like just a fun song but it hits you hard with the message. In fact all their songs do that tbh. Airplane Part 2 and Anpanman also sound cute and fun but they have (different) messages that sucker punch you.

Lots of reactors skip the lyrics or the explanations so I appreciate you for watching these. The deeper meanings of BTS songs are what move me the most about them. This song is also relatable to younger and older generations in many countries right now. For their dancing- what amazes me is the skill and style but also how well they can sing live while doing it.

65 yo BTS fan in your neighbor city of Kennesaw, GA. I’ve been listening & watching Kpop since 2009 and can count on one hand the number of groups I’ve truly been impressed with. In the vastly competitive and overly saturated world of Kpop, BTS, IMO, has been the most talented group of young men I have ever seen not only lyrically and performance-wise but also they have personalities that just shine through onstage and off.

Oh cool!! It’s always nice to meet some Army who aren’t in their 20s, but it’s much less frequent to meet some who’ve been into Kpop so long! I got into it in 2011 and it’s the majority of what I listen to on my own time. So much of the ‘other stuff’ is just boring to me. And I have to confess...I appreciate that it’s a little more tame. With the western stuff I’m like, “Ladies! Put that away! Save that for your man, I don’t need to know you that well, sheesh!” 🙈 Edit: I forgot to include that I’m 50. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The age limit is so true I'm 66 and while a lot of what they talk about doesnt affect me as a person it affects my grandchildren and I can see the changes in todays society compared to when I was a teenager/young adult. I doubt I will be a great grandmother any time soon as none of my grandchildren are keen to have children with the pressures todays society has put on them and I live in a country where it is much easier to by a house etc.

DeShawn Glosson I used to love rap back in my day, but I lost interest when mainstream rap/hip hop went full tilt on drinking, women, and crass shit. No depth, just in it for money. Then I heard Kendrick Lamar and had hope things were changing. I love interesting meaningless lyrics paired with great music. BTS does it all, they are on another level. They didn't just raise the bar, they are the bar.

Our rappers used to. Actually that's what started hip hop. It was a movement that was born because the black community needed a way to express how they felt about the things they dealt with and deal with. Public Enemy, African Bombada, Eric B and lots of others have spoken about things like this. Common, Mos Def and others came after. There's so many that do bring up these things but as time goes by we have more mumbling than messages. Kindred, J. Cole, Joyner Lucas are who I go to for rapping with messages and substance shit even Eminem had messages in his music. You just have to know who to go to I guess. Classic hip hop is still bopping in my phone because it's still better than the trash they push on us now. Bts and classic hip hop is what I usually listen to.

I feel you when you said that they talk about deep stuff with amazing melodies and beats. Like was going hard listening to Tear and then I read the lyrics. So now I go realllllly hard with an occasional literal tear lol. They have soooo many songs that have extraordinary messages and meanings that are wise and relatable. I personally feel like the song tomorrow is slept on. You should check it out! They don’t have a music video or dance practice for it but they do have live performances that I hope an army can reply to this comment with a safe link lol. It’s my absolutely favorite song from them and the message helps me continue to move foward. I’m so glad as an army and person to see that you all are genuinely in this. Honestly, if we all took their message to heart, a big difference could be made in the world💜

Your final comments are on point regarding authenticity. I knew about Kpop for more than 10 years but never became a fan of any group. There was an occasional song that I liked, but there’s some real shit that goes on in the Kpop industry that I wasn’t and still am not on board with. But BTS? In the songs that they put out there is authenticity, it really feels like they are talking about the things they want to talk about, singing the things they want to sing about. The songs go deeper. Many songs have multiple layers, like you can enjoy a song as a “bop”, but when you spend time with it you can relate to it personally, or you can see how it’s talking about wider issues.

The fact that Kito TAKES THE TIME to look for and listen to DKDKTV Explanation Videos is one of the main things that will continue to set him apart from other reactors of BTS content here on YT ( that and the fact that he is genuinely a funny guy!!!!) But think about.... KZbinrs like DKDKTV and XCelete.... put so much work into their research and explanations....and rightfully so, because it is necessary when the subject matter (BTS) put SO MUCH into their work!!!....(I literally have not turned on my tv due to being here on YT and watching Kito and Naomi AND looking for other stuff for them to react to!!!)💜💜💜 I hope Kito makes a COMPILATION VIDEO OF ALL his reactions to BTS .....starting with Chicken Noodle Soup.... because his reaction videos (IN THE ORDER of him discovering BTS )will make the toughest critic who watches them....become ARMY! It really is an awesome discovery of one’s talent (BTS) by another (Kito)who is also talented and understands the musicality, dedicated, hard work and MINDSET that is required to be at the level BTS is coming from! It’s that type of appreciation (and being authentic) that is priceless....Ok, I’m done, and in the words of Kito... OUTRO!!!!

"they made a whole ass public enemy song without it sounding like a public enemy song" Ooooh that's the power of well-handled satire and BTS are masters at handling it. Delivering socio-political critique through a veil of apparent humor , that's what satire is all about and BTS really like employing this tool (choreo, sound of the song vs the powerful lyrics). Check out songs such as Am I Wrong and Go Go. Koreans asked themselves how did they manage to pass censorship when promoting Am I Wrong bc they literally quote a politician and drag him. Below I'll put some links to the translations+explanations and live. The former are on a site of an ARMY who often takes the time to explain things to us well and give us a cultural background to the stuff BTS say. There's no video, so you'll have to read from the site (please include it in the reaction) btw BTS were even blacklisted by the former government bc they donated money in support of the families of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy victims (this is an explanation that comes with the song Spring Day). They've been also censored in the past. *REMOVE SPACE AFTER PERIODS Am I Wrong: lyrics: muish. wordpress. com/2016/10/23/bts-am-i-wrong-english-translation-and-ramblings/ live: youtube. com/watch?v=WLYF51aaVww GO GO: lyrics: muish. wordpress. com/2017/09/19/bts-go-go-english-translation-and-ramblings/ live: youtube. com/watch?v=tucl5RQG-lI

This whole video was excellent but the discussion at the end was perfect. I love that you and Allen Z and even with J, the discussion was so genuine and realistic. It made me more enthusiastic to finish some of my own videos on certain discussions. Also, you guys were absolutely right about every Element that BTS puts into their work. It’s so multi-faceted and so precise, it makes everyone want to work harder but at the same time, you wanna absolutely continue to root for these guys because it’s so Amazing to see how far they have come and how they continue to grow.

Thanking you for reacting to this, its one of my favourite songs, its funny and the boys are enjoying themselves. You should also check out the Spring Day and Spring Day explained as well. You will also need a box of tissues handy.....lol Although I shouldnt laugh its actually a very serious theory behind it and so many lost their lives as a result when the sewol ferry sank the captain and crew evacuated and told the kids who were on board to stay in their seats, some 300 odd people lost their lives that day.

you're right about bts using their platform to speak up about injustice and social issues. what's even more impressive about it is that they're doing this in south korea, in the genre of kpop, which had these type of issues as almost taboo topics for music. especially politics. meanwhile bts been driving these messages not only since they became big but since their debut and before. it's the biggest d energy in the game, ever.

7 months ago this 57 year old grandma came across a BTS video. I got hook almost instantly. Saw Rm, looked him up chased down his songs, than found Suga. I hated Rap before, but love it now. Watched all their official MV in a weekend. I still replay and chase down fancam videos. Love BTS!!!

You can check out the other explanations by Danny of DKDKTV and react to the songs then the explanation. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Ps I'm still on my recommendation of Come Back Home + No More Dream + Mic Drop Medley live. ✊✊✊ Pps I saw another comment mention Go Go and Am I Right so I am adding them. Also Spine Breaker. Even Idol has a explanation vid by DKDKTV. Another amazing song is Anpanman with a deep meaning though the choreo is adorable.

There's something JHope has said a few times, and I really like this quote : 'Sincerity will always come through". I feel like it's basically what you were saying and I don't know, it makes me happy for Hobi when people gets him, it feels like all he stands for comes through and hit you in the face (but in a nice way, coz he's JHope and seeing having fun just makes you feel good). Very fun video as always, keep up the good work, love from France!

bts are so great at hiding deep and socially conscious messages in their songs with ‘fun’ melodies and dances. songs like this (baepsae), gogo, spine breaker and even rm’s verse in ddaeng when he starts stuttering, are drenched in satire. you can really hear the satirical tones in their voices and see the mockery in their dance moves. basically it’s just genius and i love it 😂

That is the reason why us ARMY loves them so much because they have such good message and their song gives hope. And that is why they have so many fans around the world. I don’t usually listen to rap and hip hop because most of the lyrics are composed of profanity and curses. But I will listen to BTS rap songs and hip hop songs coz the curses are to a minimum and the message behind their songs is uplifting and makes you feel good inside out. Everything they do is inspiring. That’s is why I became an ARMY.

You are so right about the message! My husband is okay with the music, it’s not generally his type. But he’s been willing to sit and watch stuff about them, and he’s come to admire them so much for their message, for who they are as people, for the positive message they are trying to bring to this world, and he’s a fan simply because of that. How can you not be? Plus they’re hilarious, and he loves watching things like their Run episodes (their game show) and Bon Voyage (their travel series). I know it’s serious when he keeps a Suga photo card on his dresser next to his pic of our girls 🤣
