I don't know if you're up for the challenge, David, but I hope you do a video like this on RM's Joke!! Lol just thinking about the puns and explanations needed in each line of that track already gives me a headache 😂 Like literally every single time I listen to it, I just find myself getting blown by Namjoon's genius mind. I really hope you do this, though it's gonna take a long time to explain but I just wanna let everyone get a better experience of the track, lyric wise. This was a great video! Thanks! 👏

One thing that I enjoy: In Hoseok’s verse where he says “this is homework” and etc., I believe he’s referencing those who are trying to figure out the “formula” of BTS’s success. I’m sure some of you have heard about task forces being created among entertainment companies that are viewing BTS’s rise as a formula that can be replicated. Bang Sihyuk has even said himself that there is no formula-Bangtan is just Bangtan. Hoseok says something along the lines of “Isn’t it funny? Don’t you feel dumbfounded? To be honest, think calmly about why they [haters] are making such a fuss. [There is] not enough time, this is homework. If you can’t solve this, then your problem is ddaeng.” *mic drop*

Yep, Bang PD also mention he was anxious himself because he doesn't even know how to 'create' another group like BTS. During their early years, he followed almost the same structure; put the boys in variety show, get them to follow Big Bang style, labeled them in standard Kpop roles, like visuals, the cool one, the naughty one, the serious one ... but BTS evolved by themselves & created something unique. What he did right tho, he trusted BTS to build themselves well & didn't interfere too much.

personally, i think the part about the frog inside the well with narrow vision also applies to american celebrities/public figures, or just to american people in general. i'm korean american and a lot of the time, americans really think that the united states is on top of the world and any other culture is weird and wrong. not all americans are like this of course, but many are kind of stuck in this protected bubble because they only see the environment they've grown up with and don't know anything else. so therefore, they don't understand and can't relate to other cultures. **edit: i’m not saying that this is what bts intended when writing the lyrics, but i think their lyrics can also apply to this meaning

Well.. I just realized BTS and Bighit are really intellectuals. If you watch the run episodes before you'll see them using xylophone like when they were playing the old variery show run ep. I also remember they played games with children songs and they used that specific song you mentioned. They also played freeze tag during the zombie run episode. You see? They are giving hints without us having any clue that its a hint for their song. You might say that was a coincidence but with Bighit and BTS, I don't think so.

YASSSS LOW NEGATIVITY DISS TRACK That's always what I've been trying to tell people about what's different about BTS raps compared to other rap songs you hear on those rap shows. Thank you for explaining this song so well! I understand Chinese so I understood the "frog under the well" saying coz there's a chinese idiom - 井底之蛙, which means the same thing. But thank you for explaining the whole song and it's underlying meaning! It makes it much easier for people from western backgrounds to understand!

Heaters from RM is real man.. Great wordplay. Anyway it's kinda funny to see these big influential company feels they are the top in the industry, but yet they failed to realize the importance of smart/creativity of an idol/person play a huge role of expressing thing that matters to themselves. Company-produced songs can be good but lacking creativity touch of an idol expression and self conscious in music production can give the company some set-backs. BTS is keeping it real and that's why they are the best in the game right now.

I wanted to mention this, i think the line "When I was young i liked playing freeze tag, ddaeng" could also mean as them selves in the korean industry. BTS is the SAVER and other kpops are the FREEZED kids. Literally, they saved the kpop thus BTS PAVED THE WAY. What bts had now, they would craved aswell... The community discriminating and discrediting BTS fot their worldwide breakthrough and BBMA loom, they wished they ever have a bbma, isn't it just a PAPER award? Lmao

Isn’t the school diss, a diss to the big companies that was trying to study the formula of how BTS got big? Before the release of ddaeng that is a widely issue that resurfaced in SNS . Which is kinda funny and stupid. There is no formula to success and genuine people. Is what ARMYs countered during that issue.

@ipromisethatserendipityisa96566 жыл бұрын
I think BTS formula is simple. It's SINCERITY. Sincerity in their songs, sincerity in their craft, sincerity to their fans. Their hardwork, vulnerability and dedication is a by product of that word. Sincerity is simple but it's not easy. Yeah, they can copy BTS all they want but the ironic thing is the more they try hard to be sincere, the more fake it becomes.
@blue-lj7lz6 жыл бұрын
@@ipromisethatserendipityisa9656 i think bighit did a great job in showing us that sincerity, i believe there is a formula y bts has become successful, we have bangtan episodes, vlives, active social media acc, etc. their effort in making small films, their constant interactions with the fans gave the public a chance to see a glimpse of them. we put people in the entertainment industry on a high pedestal and we create our own versions of "perfect" to label them, and the marketing of bts showed us their struggles and insecurities, their passion, how sincere they are and we're buying it because people want something interesting, people want something that is close to the truth and make it appear pretty, bts showed us their true selves, even just a part of it, their joy and struggles and personalities, they took their time to allow us to get used to them which other idols failed to do (they think idols should put up a facade and stick to a concept that is most beneficial and it seems so fake) bts is oozing with genuine ingenuity, familiarity and humor and charm and we are given so much data to conclude so, a deeper connection from an idol to a fan is made, they dont want us to like them just bc of their looks or they dance really cool, they want to conjure a deeper affection. of course all these wouldnt be possible if the 7 boys arent what they are, theyre successful bc they are bts, bc they are themselves and we're so blessed that they exist, that this group is writing and producing songs that are relevant, that they have good quality content
