Great video! Just a couple of tips for your osd: One: Add amp draw and compare that to your speed to deduce how much wind there is to see if its too much to go where you want. Its also helpful to see if you are overdrawing your battery. I noticed in one of your moz7 videos you were are very high throttle 70-80% for extended periods, and the battery you were using (a 8000 mah fullsend li-ion) could not handle that and it could lead to your battery degrading much quicker or even just falling out of the air (it's max current draw is 90 amps). Two: add "battery efficentcy" in betaflight. this will give you the number of mah you are using per km you are flying and it is extremely useful in long range. Three: in your osd tab change your osd format to HD which will give you full osd coverage on your whole screen (instead of it only covering the center of the screen and the edges are unreachable). Here is how to do it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXmqmq2dqqeLpNksi=0AfFAJXZId0511Kn

How do you know the max current draw of a battery?
@VogxelFPV2 ай бұрын
@@Mike-jg9fp It is usually in C rating on the battery (for example most lipos are around 100C) So lets say a 1000mah lipo has a 100c rating you would just multiply 1000x100 giving you 100,000. Then you just take the first 3 digts of that I'm sure there's a more mathematical way but that is simpler and it gives you 100 amps of current draw. However on some batteries like the 8000Mah I mentioned it actually says 45A max current on the back of the battery AND on the website. Since it is a li-ion and not a li-po this would be belivible if not for the fact that is is in 6S2P configuration, meaning there are 6 cells in series and 2 cells wired in parallel. For all batteries that don't specify this they are 6S1P meaning their current draw and capicy are limited to exactly the specifications of the battery cell which you can usually find out. However when there are 2 cells in parallel it effectively doubles the capacity and amp draw (so instead of there just being 6 cells in the battery there are actually 12 but it parallel makes it so that the voltage does not increase, only the capacity and the amp draw. It also doubles the time it takes to charge the battery safely). So with a quick google search you can find out what cell the battery has, look the cell up see what the amp draw is, and by doing that I found out the the CELL max amp draw is 45A so doubling that gives you 90A. *Oh god what have I written...*
@VogxelFPV2 ай бұрын
@@Mike-jg9fp TLDR: The C rating on a battery tells you its current draw (amps) by multiplying the battery capacity by the C rating. For example, 1000mAh at 100C gives 100 amps. In a 6S2P Li-ion battery, the parallel cells double the capacity and amp draw. So, a battery with 45A per cell in 6S2P gives you 90A total.

I really hope the battery tech for fpv improves soon, we need to have as least double if not triple the capacity of those battery we have now. I mean these type of flight is not too far, but once you make the flight to the spot then there is not much juice left to do exploring. Compare to drones like marvic 3, it can probably fly there and explore around for 20 mins. I'm wondering why can't some of the battery tech from EVs get transferred to FPV

Wow 😮 gorgeous. 10 inch is the best choice for windy condition. That's why I love a big drone for exploring a mountain
@floriankocznar38132 ай бұрын
I am always wondering, is it really ? Cause you add more power and stability to more surface and weight you have to pull through. With my tern lr 40 I was able to go 25 minutes hovering, 20 minutes flight, and also am still quite stable in windy conditions... but with my gopro (naked 90 gram) flight time droped to 12 minutes, and I am always a bit worried in very windy conditions... But I am still not sure if a 7 inch or 10 inch is really better, looking at most moz7 videos, they also only fly 10 minutes plus and are battered by wind heavily... So would a chimera or crocodile really be a big advantage ? Looking for 20-30 minutes flight time with gopro and max stability in harsh conditions :-)

Dude, I was about to start using my DJI controller instead of my Crossfire stuff (I've been a CRSF guy for years) simply because you seemed to be having so much success with it but I notice you're using your Tango 2 in this video. CRSF is obviously superior but the DJI option is just so damn convenient. I'm in the process of building a custom MOZ7 and think I'll be "responsible" and put CRSF in it. Low-key I'm super happy to see you using a Tango today so I can stop considering my DJI controller. 😂 Keep up the good work bro. I really look forward to your uploads.

I usually fly DJI - the only reason I don't with the helion is I wanted to try it out. It's been pretty much exactly the same so I'll probably switch it to DJI. I'd just go with what's easiest. If youre already on the tango no need to switch

Uallll, amazing video as usual. For sure, I will think about to acquire a “big” drone as well. Quick question, do you think you can do the same flight long range with the Chimera 7 ?
@VogxelFPV2 ай бұрын
Yes. Honestly having such a gigantic drone like a helion is overkill and a pain to travel with. With 8000 Mah Fullsend Li-ions from iflight I have done 16km round trips (8 km there and back) plus an extra 2500m going up a mountain and I had battery to spare.
@Michelsen3K2 ай бұрын
Yes without doubt a 7" handles. I own both. The 10" is benefits in windy condition. For example in the mountains. You consider 10" once you have to deal with wind. I promise 😂 the extra weight gives stability.

Any tips for pilots with Integra goggles to get the best range out of a helion (or any other quad not using the stock DJI 03 air unit antennna)? On Integras we can't swap the foldable omni antennas and with aftermarket antennas on the drone it doesn't work well. Best combo would be to use that stock DJI antenna that comes with the 03 air unit but that one is super short.
@MirAviation2 ай бұрын
Weird that you’re not getting good range. I use integra goggles + O3 stock and easily do 4 miles, haven’t gone further due to battery. You must have clear LOS
