4:00 So here is a brief history of bts and their hiphop origin. RM, suga and jhope joined bighit to form BTS in 2010. RM and Suga came from underground hiphop crews. RM was in Dnh, a group of rappers that included supreme boi and couple of his friends. And SUGA was in a mixed 7 member hiphop group with both dancers and rappers, he used to produce music for them. So both of them were already rapping and making music. Jhope was in a street dance crew called Neuron and was performing and competing everywhere. J-hope was the first member to sign a trainee contract with bighit for his dance skills in early 2010. After that bighit found RM after a performance. The idea of BTS formed after Bang Pd saw RM and his lyric writing skills. He signed him as the first member of a group called BULLETPROOF BOYS or BPB in mid 2010. In November 2010, suga auditioned for bighit with a song RM produced and won second place and became the second member of bangtan. Meanwhile all of RMs friends also joined the company. In December 2010 jhope moved in with rm and suga and all these other rappers. He was already considered a member of bts. And while living with the rappers he picked up rapping from them by joining the rappers freestyle rap battles at their dorm. So Early 2011 all the other rappers left the dorm and only RM, suga and jhope were left. They became the foundation or 3 pillars of bangtan and started using the name BTS. So PRE mid 2011 bts was entirely a rap trio consisting of only RM, suga and jhope. Together the trio did a song called satoori rap in mid 2011. They even appeared on TV together for that song (which Taehyung saw before he joined bts, while researching bighit) They performed in places, suga and rm would rap and then jhope would dance. But the company went broke and bang pd was like.... bts needs to transform into something different and decided to bring in potential vocalists. The vocalists started joining as to be members for bts in mid 2011. Jin and jk was signed first as vocalists. V joined after that and jimin joined in 2012. So the bts rappers were always rappers and joined bts to be rappers. And they were definitely taking shots at other groups whose rappers such they were forced to rap cus they can't sing. It's actually a thing in kpop, some people can't sing and their company doesn't want to bother trying to find talented people so they just force them to rap.

as old army I really like taylors intro to BTS but the suga and spice introduction is really a lot more raw and in depth....taylors is worth watching for the timeline update that suga and spice did.....i would recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen the suga and spice intro

Many idols get scouted based on their looks then they're later trained to sing and dance. It became a thing where some idols debuted since they were good looking but weren't a good enough to be considered as vocalists so they'd be put in a group as an "idol rapper" Also, jungkook's nickname is golden maknae(youngest) since he's great at dancing, singing and rapping. Although he's focused more on singing than rapping as they got older.

Their earlier songs were for sure less polished but still awesome. You also have to consider that they were pretty young between 15 and 20 so their content had a lot of themes about adolescence. About Suga's bar, that was aimed at idols who are made to rap coz they can't sing. Like those who don't have any actually writing ability or rhythm and flow. Because there are people who are pushed into rap coz they look good but can't hold a tune. There was no one in BTS who was given a role because they were no good at another skill. When trainees join the company, their skills in different areas would be assessed naturally. Both RM and Suga came from underground rap backgrounds. J-hope naturally ended up freestyling and picking up rap as he lived in the same dorm and trained with them. He was taken in for his prowess in dance which is also a necessity for idols. The 4 vocalists were assigned vocal roles as that was what they were chosen for or because their potential in those skills became evident during training.

Skool luv affair Released between June 2013 and Feb 2014 Members ranged from 15-21 The youngest in middle school and the oldest in university They wrote about school as a societal issue … kids in school and cram schools til late at night competing for top placements, parental ambitions for their kids and the highest youth suicide rate in the world at that time… and they wrote about school simply as adolescents looking for fun/trouble/ love Yoongi’s diss to idols forced to rap is more about the industry Thousands of trainees picked mostly if not completely for their “Korean beauty standards” ( as jin was actually) and then trained over years to perform… those who could not be trained to sing were told they had to rap to survive.. and just like the school system, fierce competition and hours of practice daily in addition to school were the rule… Big hit was different but competing in the same world as the 3 large entertainment groups SM,YG and JYP… difference was big hit had no money just a talent for picking talent and the good sense to let them participate in writing and production…

This was on of 3 albums in the School Trilogy. Their albums for the most part have themes that crossed three albums per theme. There are some background videos that are a good bases going into your journey. Mentioned by others in chat. It's funny that you don't think you want to watch a guide, which would answer all the questions you keep asking and guessing every video and assuming. The guide has nothing to do with their albums.
