There's a reason for it. Back when MMA was getting off the ground in the US a lot of people thought it was predetermined like pro-wrestling, so the organizers at that time wanted to distance themselves from pro-wrestling's image. That meant generally no fancy walkouts or fireworks like in pro-wrestling. Compare that to an organization like PRIDE, where the pageantry levels were off the charts. Also, the guy's aura really helps. If Poatan was 7-5 with a 3 loss losing streak, then suddenly the walkout and the bow and arrow would definitely be a lot less impactful.
