It wasn't a fluke, it was the path to victory and he even has footage of drilling that exchange to recreate the end of round 1 from their first fight.

Got tired definitely in the last fight, his head movement was slightly sloppier and he doesn’t seem as hungry as pre-Alex (even though I know he tries hard to be). No matter what you choose to do in your life going forth, win lose, or whether you fight at all, the reign you had in the UFC is immortal. Well never forget the style bender and how he beat all those opponents in grandiose spectacle, let’s not forget the Pereira KO as well. Seeing you cheer for Alex, another favorite of mine, really seems like the end to a beautiful story. Correct; STRICK & ALEX Training Together definitely Benefitted Both; Strickland got a Good Scouting report on IZZY & striking / boxing tips and the Body Kick was in Periera's arsenal, but Strickland aided in Increased Usage & Technique; Same w/ the Defensive Shell using a "Higher Hands Up style a bit more to lower the risk of taking clean shots vs lower hand position, which Alex still favors: To further Your points, the Jab was always good, but working w/ Strick definitely sharpened it to where it's a "Money" shot, making the kicks that much more Deceptive if that's possible; Periera offers 0 Telegraph in that area, but Khalil made a good account of himself; got tired, Altitude may have played a role, but was still more busy than Edwards vs Usman where Rocky went empty and was "Zapped" for 3 Rounds before that head kick

People saying "oh Izzy just wants to be the only one to beat Poatan" that's bullshit man, c'mon. You can see he's legitimately cheering for Poatan. I think that's the healthy thing to do, leaving his demons behind with that great win he had over Alex and focusing on the future. In the end Poatan and Izzy have way more in common than not. Both coming from hardship, fighting their way out of poverty inside the kickbox world, joining the elite MMA and just destroying everyone with style while providing for their families.
