I do think Tweek might have a very slight edge on raw fundamentals as well as the platform game, but Leo just runs circles around him in mental fortitude and adaptation and conditioning. This is why Leo is the king.

@@mrjollyguy25 maybe so, but it’ll take both if anyone wants to replace him as the “undisputed worlds best”. Tweek’s character movement certainly looks impressive, but is it as effective as Leo’s? I don’t think so. I think the reason Leo can make Byleth (a mid tier character at best) work when nobody else can, is bc he understands better than anyone how to position his own character to avoid taking damage, but at the same time smother his opponent with perfectly spaced attacks. Tweek had both at Summit-good movement and strong mind-but not at Riptide.

Cmon man, last time in Summit leo got destroyed by tweek, this time leo struggled at the beggining but end up destroying him. Maybe next time will be for tweek, who knows man. And we don't have to forget about Marss, who won the last major pre-covid against leo and maybe just needs some time to get at his peak level. I too think that Leo maybe is a step ahead, but it has only been 2 tournments, maybe we'll have to wait to state anything. Oh and what leo is doing with a character that everybody thinks is mid is amaizing, but tweak kinda did the same with Diddy. Now everybody puts him on high or even top, but not a long time ago everybody said he was mid, high at his bests.

I think Byleth is probably still not high tier, but the way Leo plays him with his own high level of experience and his great defensive parries really allows him to elevate the character. Byleth can get punished hard but Leo's defensive abilities are just that good to help him avoid that, and then from there his opponents have to deal with a hard to hit/kill Byleth that hits like a truck. Then add on Leo's great presence of mind and quick thinking and you've got the #1 player. A great example of how tier lists are very, very generalized, and don't determine results as a player can really elevate a character based on the combination of their skillset and the character's.

Lets just all agree that if Byleth had the speed of someone like Roy, Fox or Mythra than everyone would probably consider him/her top tier because besides the lack of speed this character basically have many usable tools. The sword is great for out of shield options, the Axe is deadly on shields and spikes, the lance is a great way to catch someone off guard and the bow snipes far as well as great for a neutral air option. I play this character myself despite not being very good at the game but even I can tell that this character has tons of potential. Their up B is probably my favorite Up B in the game as its use for spikes and combos is incomparable.

Guys, that GAME 4 LEO shit is real... Byleth is widely considered MID TIER by most top players (some even say he's LOW) and in fact according to Tweek himself: Diddy beats Byleth... So, I can't wait for people to start saying he's broken. Anyway, here are some data from Leo vs Tweek: -Leo has 3 stoked Tweek 5 times in the Ultimate era and has gotten 6 reverse 3-0 against him. -With this tournament Tweek set a record of 8 consecutive games won against Leo (6 from Summit and 2 from Riptide), plus Leo has never made a 6-0 to Tweek (not the same thing as a reverse 6 -0). It's as if they both bring out the best in each other when they face off.

I honestly think Tweek needs to keep his sephiroth in better shape. He barely plays the secondaries at all. While focusing on Diddy has paid off well for him, this game has such a large roster that having a reliable secondary is almost a must. If his Sephiroth, maybe even wolf, were given as much effort as Diddy it would give him a character to fall back on when his Diddy gets downloaded.

Nah Sephiroth at the highest level doesn't work. He's to exploitable and he dies early even earlier than Diddy. Look at the Sephiroth game Leo did his same nair to dash attack which killed Sephiroth at 102. Diddy would've lived there. That combined with Tweek being more passive as Sephiroth means he's a worst option.

After Summit, I was certain we were buckling up for an offline season dominated by Tweek. But damn man, Leo came through, with Byleth even. The shake up to the meta after the online era has totally changed the competitive environment and I can't wait to see what comes next.

I was rooting for Leo to win because he was using Byleth, but when Tweek pulled out the Sephiroth, I changed sides real quick. Sucks that the Sephiroth performed so horribly.

Sephiroth suffers from the Ridley syndrome....a tall and huge character that appears heavier than he looks, but is actually really light and easy to hit. I have a feeling Tweek might drop him.

@Maddux Nagel yeah so looks like we agree. I would definitely also agree with not solely basing tiers on results. Kazuya would be another example to go with yours. On paper he's top five because of all of his tools, but he is very easy to mess up with. I'd say Byleth is high tier and with way more evidence (or a good buff) I'd consider them top tier.

Tweek is an amazing player his Diddy kong is scary. But man Leo is just GOAT material this man was made for this game. I can see Mkleo retiring from Ultimate as the top dog. I love how competitive smash is back offline. It’s so good to watch and exciting. I even got my parents watching matches as if we where watching Sunday night football lol 😂 smash is so good. I wish they would show these matches on espn or something.

Ive said this before but as time went on online leos byleth was starting to beat tweeks diddy more often than losing at some point and it made me wonder why he didn't go byleth at summit during grands. Would the outcome have been in leos favor if he brought out byleth instead of pythra?

I'm pretty sure Leo was practicing a ton more Pythra before Summit and didn't have as much faith in his Byleth doing too well at Summit. But after summit, something clicked and he decided to put mostly everything into his Byleth and really learn the Diddy MU as well since he really wants Byleth to be his main.

@@elchupacabra1406 im a heavy leo fan as a fellow mexicano but im still under the impression its just leo being a god and making byleth work with his playstyle rather than byleth always being really good, i still think byleth is a mid tier. I was going for tweek at summit and here too this time tho due to tweeks journey with diddy being one of the most inspiring stories ive seen in this game in a while but that doesn't mean my fav player isn't leo.

He himself said in the post match interview (It's on PGstats) that he just didn't have enough faith in Byleth after how badly he lost game 1 to Tweek.

Hopefully we see more promising & up-and-coming players in future tournaments to shake things up. It's great to witness the love for both players, but if MKleo is in a tournament you can almost guarantee the result, the only surprise would be Tweek placing first instead of second. They deserve what they get for how much time they've put in for sure, but I just want to see more competition and unexpected victories. C; PS: Hope we see Tea and his Pac-Man make a return to the US tournaments as well. :)
