I always thought that Kung Fu is disrespected because it is an impractical style/technique of fighting. Honestly seems to be overly theatrical compared to other disciplines, this has been evident in many fights throughout history. Ill admit that KungFu does offer some advantage, specifically related to he range of striking, but as a Martial art it is very overhyped and incomplete in my opinion.

Buakaw explained in his own KZbin channel that the knee strike with the muaythai plum was legal so long as only 1 knee strike was thrown. The Chinese officials were all perfectly fine with it since this was agreed on by all sides prior to the match, but this dude literally decided in the middle of the match that he didn’t like it and tried to change the rules mid match. Buakaw said this is the first time he’s ever experienced that. Even tho the match was held in China with Chinese officials, everyone was on Buakaw’s side, and the officials were trying to explain to the other guy that 1 knee strike was allowed but he was being a diva and refused to fight unless they changed the rules. The crowd was furious, and the Chinese fighter got so much hate online that he had to delete his social media. This fight was also uploaded to a Chinese channel and all the comments in Chinese praise Buakaw and blame the Chinese fighter for embarrassing China. I do agree tho that if this was held anywhere else the match would probably end in a tko win for Buakaw since the other dude didn’t want to fight, so obviously I don’t agree with the NC, but I think it was more to do with the officials not knowing what to do rather than them being corrupt. They were all in agreement with Buakaw, so this isn’t a case of foul play but rather just one fighter being a diva and refusing to fight. Ps: in case you came from Gabriel Vargas’ channel, yes I did also commented this on his video as well and just copied and pasted it here for anyone curious.

Buakaw clearly went into this went into the ring to prove to himself and others that he could fight, his weak link being was that he chose to fight in an arena that had rules, regulation and restrictions. And to quote Steinbeck John “If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.” and boy, did Buakaw's tactics suck hard.

Unfortunately after that referee went to Buakaw corner and asked him to accept this new rule for just another round and they will call it over Buakaw posted in his social media later that this is quite a trick for a foreign promotors to rig the match because if Buakaw agree to fight another round and couldn't KO this Chinese guy he'd be set to lose by point or draw for the best PS. Buakaw announce on the ring that he'll fight with this new rule(no knee no elbow) but the promotors has to pay more because he sign the contract to fight in K1 rule that allowed 1 clinch 1 knee, if they want him to fight in different rule the new contract and price rate need to be adjust to match it

Kung-fu Princess agreed to K1 rules meaning ok to knee to body in a clinch. He knew what he signed up for. What he didn't plan for was that his plan of illegally kicking the knees and the balls would not K.O. Buakkaw, even though I can assure you alot of tough fighters would have gone done from either one as that Kung-fu guy had legit hard kicks. After seeing that Buakkaw wasn't even phased and in fact smiling... Kung-fu kid was knew only pain awaited him, so in the end he was wise after all.

Lol lots of chinese articles reporting how Buakaw "nearly lost" to Wang, and so he has "no choice" but to use knee on Wang to prevent being KO...which then led to Wang being very unhappy. Their media is completely twisting the narrative in Wang's favor.
