What's up BC. Just started watching your stuff today after buying my 22"blackstone Sunday. Sunday night, Bubba burgers were the first thing I made. Caemelized onions and mushrooms and some bacon on this bad boy as well (toasted bun lover myself). Tonight I toasted see garlic knots and browned some sausage and beef for stuffed shells. I say that because I never would have even thought to put them in there until I watched your biscuits and gravy episode. Looking forward to many more awesome meals!

“I’m following the instructions exactly.” They reach 161 and take them off? No, add cheese and then close the cover to cook longer? I guess it’s different where I live. When it says to cook to 161, I remove them at 161. But then, that’s me.

bubba burger costs $14 a box. no way in the world am i paying $7 a pound for the lowest quality ground chuck and god knows what other chemicals they put in to preserve it. you'd have to be out of your mind to pay that much!
@cookingwithbigcat3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob, appreciate the comment. I agree these are very expensive. However, in my opinion you are paying for the convenience factor. They come frozen so you keep them in the freezer until you need them and you don't need to thaw out before cooking. They are already formed into patties. And, these are great for tailgates/camping trips. That being said, yeah way overpriced for what you get.

Bubba burgers are tasty but absolute crap when it comes to quality. They get their taste from the extreme high fat! Good for feeding large groups of people you dont care about. You can't mess them up. They are very very easy to make. But you can't compare them to a quality seasoned ground beef cooked the right way! I know it's hard to make a good tasty burger the traditional way but when you do learn how, it's the best! I make mine with 80/20 ground beef. I add a bit of olive oil, worsecheier sauce, one egg and a bit of Emeril meat seasoning ( which has mostly sea salt, pepper, garlic) we add some chopped red peppers and onions and prepare thick patties. I preheat my Weber gas grill to 700 degrees. I place the burgers on for about 2.5 minutes for each side. I then move them to a cooler side of the grill and check for temp. It they are at 140-145 degrees I take them off amd wrap in foil. They then cook themselves fo about 150 degrees. I then serve on a toasted bun. Absolutely delicious!!! It takes alot of practice to get it right! But worth it!!
@cookingwithbigcat2 жыл бұрын
Thanks J D, I hear you 100%. I agree that most people do not know how to cook a burger on a gas/charcoal grill. I actually learned by reading the Weber's Way to Grill cookbook about 20 years ago. It was just like you said, 80/20 beef, high heat for 3-4 or so minutes per side for that nice crust and that's it. Thanks for the comment, you brought back some memories lol!!!
@jamesford5504 Жыл бұрын
This guy must like extremely dry burgers. 160°+ is over excessive for a burger.
