I have been on two 10 day trips. Number 1 rod and reel. Would calstar 50-130 and 50w. Your choice of avet 50, Shimano 50, okuma 50w. Number 2 80lbs spectra loaded reel 30 avet, Shimano 25 talica 2 speed and rod 40-100lbs rod. Number 3 rod 8 foot 30-80 seeker or calstar and reel 65lbs spectra Shimano talica 16 2 speed, avet hx raptor, etc. You could have backup for these reels. Owner hooks, marauder lures, tady lures, Wahoo bombs, spools of fluorocarbon 100, 60, 40,... I have seen numerous guys with 20 rods and reels. I just don't see the need for 20 rod and reel unless you have alot of money.

It's like kids showing off 🙄 people say they don't want to retie jigs and I agree so I prerig leaders with swivels so I can clip my jigs on quickly or just tie my braid directly to the swivel.

By accident I found my Wahoo Killer. You can't buy them anymore, but you can find some on line. The old Luhr Jensen's Crocodile, 5 to 7 ounces is deadly. just change the treble out to 3XXX trebles, and put a few chrome tinsels hiding the big treble hook. Dorado's also hit em like crazy.

You don't need to replace the drags on internationals anymore. They are in the top 3 for me.

Cal and Eric at Cal sheets did unbelievable work on my Penn 16 and Avet 30w. Both reels have made some quick work on bluefin over 100 plus. Seems if your able to do personal drop offs/pick ups at their place you can get it a lot faster.

Hi, what is the difference between the viper 70 and 76? They are both rated 80 to 130. Some people say the longer version has more lift. I always thought you have more leverage on a big fish with a shorter pole. Please advise and great video.
@karlobobiles29682 жыл бұрын
The extra length will help with getting around the bow, anchor, and just to keep the fish away from the side of the boat….
