I honestly didn’t think for one second you were saying that for the video. I knew how much you care for these animals and how much you pride yourself in helping them. If you can’t find the problem you can’t help them and that’s what you were worried about. Love your work my friend!

I also think for someone as experienced as Grame to be perplexed he talks himself through the problem as much as he is talking to an audience. The things you'd tell someone who's learning. These are educational videos as much as they're captivating and wholesome. I think that's the magic, it's fun learning and our brains love learning things that don't add weight to our lives. Most likely we'll never need any bit of this cow education. But most love beef and milk/ milk products. Seeing how our food is cared for is fascinating. I've milked a cow once, I'd never know the anatomy of their feetsies without these sweet gents teaching me. I'd wager 99% of the watchers have also watched just as many hours of how it's made and unwrapped. That remaining 1% are other trimmers looking for visual assistance for complicated problems they're facing right that minute in front of them in the crush. These are priceless for the expertise they freely share. It's just the right amount of cute, pimple popping, wholesome and educational. All delivered with a wonderful brogue that has a nice relaxing lilt. And Mrs. Hoof, no disrespect if you see this but he's not bad on the eyes either. 😂 They're a wonderful team, marriage goals. ❤

I empathize with the cows. As a runner, I occasionally get runner’s toe- where the nail separates from the nail bed and blood pools up underneath. It hurts like crazy so I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to walk on my toes. Draining the fluid and trimming away the separated nail brings instant relief.

When my horse was lame I was very glad to find the abscess in her hoof. If you can’t find the source you can’t treat it. You can’t treat a horse’s abscess quite the same as a cow’s because there is nothing to put a block on but you open it up, clean it up and treat it with medication especially formulated for horses and we usually wrap them with a disposable diaper and duct tape as they need something they can walk on for a while.

But then, had kids, raised them, when they got to school I started working at a camp, writing outdoor programs, teaching archery and running ropes courses for a decade. Realized I loved teaching. Got my Master's degree at 43 and now have been teaching kids, with moderate to severe disabilities for 13 years. I absolutely love my job. I just wish I had discovered it sooner! Never would I thought I would be teaching, especially in middle school (11-14 yrs old). So woot for us finding careers we love!❤

Do you realize how much milk I’ve been drinking in the last several months? I used to be addicted to milk all my life, I’m 73, but after one of my abdominal surgeries I went off of it. Didn’t drink it for like 10-15 years. Then started watching the Hoof GP and a few others and started craving it again. Every night a huge glass of chocolate milk. Made my cholesterol and triglycerides go up so I’ll have to do an adjustment. And I find myself talking to the screen when I’m watching other guys trim the cows. I’ll say, “ no, you didn’t make the claws short enough or they’re not even”. Or “ the Hoof GP wouldn’t do it like that”. lol.
