The king of the drumming world. I grew up spending countless hours listening to Rush songs on MTV and Stereo Panama radio station from 1984- 1991. So tragic not just for Neil. Alex commented recently that he has not been inspired since Neil died. Don't know if he still plays golf, which was his other passion. Haven't heard if Geddy has made any statements concerning Neil's death other than the one he put out in the immediate aftermath. Hope at some point both of them can find some peace and inspiration and put out some new music, either together or as individuals.

@@geetarman Granted that Peart was also the lyricist. But to say that Bonzo could just be "replaced" is the most ignorant comment I have read. Bonzo wasn't simply a drummer, just like Peart. He was an amazing talent. They are 1 and 1A in the ranks of the greatest rock drummers of all time. You tell The Who about just replacing Keith Moon. They NEVER sounded the same. Neither would Zeppelin without Bonham. What a stupid comment. Bonzo was every bit the "engine" that Peart was.

Woody81 You are on crack. Ginger Baker sure. I think you'll need to do research. Many drummers concur Neil is the best in interview after interview. Intricacy of an orchestra. Skill beyond any. Size of drum kit makes him less talented wtf does that mean? He knows how to use many more percussion instruments and therefore is less talented. There weren't many before GB to mimic, modify, or emulate in that style. By the way GB style is simplistic with not much stop times and or time changes. Rush was recording near heavy metal 10 years before you were born sir. Professor, songwriter, hall of famer. To be fair GB is a famer as well, but he hasn't done diddly since Cream. Rush has done how many albums since Cream disbanded. GB is also a douche in interviews and in general.

Imagine being so talented as a band that you just go into a studio to record a little shabang for fan service and satire and you fucking make a masterpiece. Who could do this? Rush. Rush does this. Or did. RIP to Peart aka “The Professor”. The man who literally reinvented the way people not only look at the drums but how drummers and other musicians look at other instruments. Rush: what a fkn concept!

@fjorgyn7438 perhaps. That's why they kept quitting touring. The drummer was suffering. They were all suffering. Guitar players suffer. Drummers suffer. I worked a year creating pain free guitar playing. There is a lot of pain with music. Pain and suffering is not without drama.
