Awesome tour, saw them at MSG. BOC kicked ass and Sabbath killed too, however there were some people chanting ‘Ozzy’ during their set, so much that at one point Dio went to the mic between songs and said “Sorry, Ozzy couldn’t make it tonight”.

I've heard both bands talk about the tour. Tony & Geezer talked about it in their biographies, Tony & Geezer felt the tour was put together to get Blue Oyster Cult more exposure. Black Sabbath was also very frustrated with Blue Oyster Cult's production. They had a fiberglass Godzilla that took 90 minutes to take down. As a result Black Sabbath nights when Black Sabbath headlined they went to a tired audience with shows going past midnight and frequently half filled arenas at the end. Albert Bouchard has also spoken of this tour and said while he did feel Sabbath was standoffish, said they were never rude or caused any problems. He felt they weren't too sociable and did say he had nothing but respect for them. He even went so far as to say he found them easier to talk to then Kiss.

In Iommi's biography, he recalls doing a lot of cocaine at that time. That screws up a person's ego. Good read.

Why was Tony so messed up on drug? Did he ever say? Yet, years earlier he fired Ozzy because Ozzy was irresponsible with his drug and alcohol use. Explain that

@jogmas12 trying to explain why people do drugs is impossible. As far as the difference between alcohol and coke, it's huuuuge. Alcohol can make you a stumbling, bumbling slurring idiot, unable to perform. Coke just makes you a violent paranoid asshole, but still able to perform. He probably fired Ozzy cuz he was too drunk to perform his duties in the band.

@@kevinmcc3147Tony Iommi was engaged to Lita Ford in the mid eighties and the Black and Blue tour was in 1980. You can't believe everything you read in her book . Blue Oyster Cult had their part of the concert professionally shot with over dubs and Sabbath was filmed in all their raw power not aware of the movie coming out of the gig .

I saw Black Sabbath on September 26th Charlotte coliseum Heaven and Hell tour with Jesse Bolt and Riot a show dedicated to John Bonham who passed away on September 25th dear friend of Tony Iommi and he didn't appear to be high on coke that night phenomenal performance from Tony Iommi and Vinny Appice played a great drum solo also that evening.
