Strangely enough, I remember only one case when I was blown away by the art of being a brilliant frontman and it was a lady who did it to me. It was Doro Pesch and... it was just something out of this world. I mean I've never seen anyone - ANYONE - who'd be SO F**ING HAPPY to be on stage with us, fans. She was really glad to be there, she was into it to the limit, shook hands of everyone, let everyone in the first rows sing in her microphone... and after the show she didn't leave and stayed until everyone who needed stuff signed got their autographs, each with a personal message. I've seen her 4 times since then and every time was like that. So when she sings "you're my family", she really means it. That's it. King Diamond was awesome, Bruce Dickinson was brilliant, but no one can get even close to Doro in terms of "I f*cking love being here with you, guys, and I don't want it to end" feeling.

Different topic, but I saw John Corabi and Tom Keifer two days ago in my home state. At the merch booth, got two autographs (one on a book for me, another on a shirt for my dad) by John Corabi, shook his hand and took a selfie with him. Really cool guy, and sounded great that night, as well as Tom.

Freddie Mercury was from a British Parsi-Indian family living in England. That's why you hear all those Persian lyrics being sung in Bohemian Rhapsody. Bismillah is an Arabic phrase that means, in the name of God. The Mama Mia let him go part may have been Abba influenced, as Abba were blowing up the music charts in the mid 70's, and being as competitive as Freddie was this could not have gone unnoticed by him.

I saw Queen with Freddie 08/13/1980 in Charlotte, NC. I was 13 years old. To this day, its the best show I've ever seen. I saw them with Paul Rodgers many years later and with Adam Lambert twice. The concert I saw with Freddie was incredible, but the Queen shows without Freddie were awesome too. Brian May is a god and Queen always deliver. They're my all time favorite band. I would've loved to have seen them with Lizzy. They're my 2nd favorite band of all time.

@@almosthuman56 when we were standing outside waiting in line, I heard them playing Dragon Attack for soundcheck. But they didn't play it in the show. That was the only slight let down. The show was phenomenal.

Saw them my one and only time at MSG in July 1982. They were fine, but Freddie I agree was not equal as a frontman to DLR at that time. No one was, as you say.

I was that dude back in those days that just didn't like much of their music. I agree with how fantastic they are as musicians but just didn't like their music enough to buy it.
