Sweet car, well done. Love the old Fairlanes. I live in Central CA and try to make it out the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in the fall when I can. There typically are several Thunderbolts that attend. They are awesome to check out and watch run.

I first car was a 64 Fairlane sport coup, I painted my self,apolsterd it my self,fixed it up keapt her clean, had a289 cu in. Had alot of fun ,I Never should have sold her

The Lumina/Beretta & the Firebird appeared to be Pro Stock cars . . . meaning his ‘Super’ Stock Fairlane ‘Bolt ran pretty well. Drivetrain does seem a bit long-legged, evidenced by how well he kept up with that Lumina/Beretta towards the end of the pass.

Cool car I've have had more than 40. 64 Fairlane,s drag raced a 289 9000 rph old super stock motor. Ran 7.90,s in the 1/8 Mile drive it there 25 miles to the track.

Looks fantastic. Wondering if it's has the full fiberglass front end, or just a lift off fiberglass hood. Bumpers look like the stock metal ones which I would remove for fiberglass ones all to save weight. Otherwise, the car looks great. Sorry hearing about the engine issue. Good luck on getting it back on the track.

Hemi 300C he cut more weight out this winter I know. He also threw on some nitrous to speed it up. If I recall the fenders were still steel. Thanks for watching!

That's not even close to a Thunderbolt. There were no a 2 door hardtop Thunderbolts. They were 2 door sedans.

Fred C it runs right at 6 flat in the 1/8th mile. He lightened the car more and put a small nitrous kit on it over winter so I expect it to be in the 5.70’s or 5.80’s this year. Thanks for warning!

Dannyjoe81 1996mustanggt yeah you would probably need deep pockets or lots of time to bring it back. I tracked down my mom’s first car (66 LeMans with a 421 swap) and found it in much the same sad state. So I passed on snagging it.

I hurt a lot of rich kids feelings in it the new 4.6 mustang gts couldn't hang with it z 28s they got me off of the line as it would just blow the tires off. But once I got in 3rd I went by them like they was tied to a stump.

I love this car I have a 68 fastback mustang and a 1968 440 dart with duel quad tunnel ram have had many cars but never had a 64 fairlane or a 66 fairlane but I have always wanted one. When I get one I want a daily driver with ac and fuel injection all the modern stuff but look like a old thunderbolt drag car that was drug out of a field weathered and believable. Probably do it like the Taska ford. Can’t wait thanks for vid
