Saw Jimi Hendrix Experience in1968 when I was 17. I have been a devoted listener and player of the guitar ever since (both acoustic and electric). I've seen many great guitarists live over the years. This man is in a class by himself. No comparisons to others would be fair. I can't believe I just discovered Buckethead a few days ago. This is not only the best guitar playing I've ever heard, this is the best MUSIC I've ever heard. So many comments on KZbin that show how many folks have had their lives changed, and even their hearts healed, by this man's music. I just started exploring his recordings and already have been brought to tears by many of his songs.
@jimbeam1955 Жыл бұрын
Exactly same here --- seen / heard many greats but BH is in a class alone when it comes to overall creativity / top notch quality guitar ripping . I saw him live and he plays incredibly cleanly with hardly any mistakes and recreates the insanely hard studio solos note for note when he wants and improvises new interesting original riffs off the cuff as he feels like it as well . The show was great... just like Bucketheadland is supposed to be with TOYS and KUNG FU ! He's well trained musically too and it shows with the structure of his music, which is more complicated and pre-planned than I think most listeners might realize . His musical style is truly unique with so many excellent pikes he's tuned in to The Source for sure . His earlier stuff is extra fantastic I think try Population Override if you haven't already .
@williamgreenfield9991 Жыл бұрын
@@jimbeam1955 Agree about Population Override being fantastic, but I think the title should be Requiem for Humanity. The early album that I listen to the most is Electric Tears. Every song is brilliant, but my favorite (and the one that can make me weep) is All in the Waiting. If it's even possible, he's more expressive on acoustic guitar than electric. The way Sketches of Spain moves seamlessly from the acoustic intro to electric is nothing short of magic.

I'm 67 and just got back from SF. Same for me. Found him last year and compulsively had to see this live. What an experience! No one since Jimi has done this for me. I too regularly cry when listening to Bucket. No musician has ever moved me to tears. Enjoy man, we will never hear all of his stuff. What a gift.

Here's a short list of who I consider to be in the same group......Darrell Dimebag Abbott, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Slash, Eddie Van Halen ...................I could list at least 40 more that are all on the same level. This song feels melancholic and yet hopeful, like the aftermath of defeat and yet not giving up. The energy just builds up and doesn’t let go, makes me want to do some good in this world and stay fighting my demons. Literally bro there is nothing behind this 😂 absolutely nothing 🤣 it's fucking awesome is what it is. When I think of the best. I don't think about anything but Buckethead. Other people's opinions are fake and lies I feel like. Yeah you think what you want I don't care. You are obviously blind to guitar and don't know anything about imagination there are millions and billions of great players but this guy is the only "master" that has ever lived. I have heard him play like everyone ever doesn't matter malmsteem polyphia vai Johnson I have seen him put a drill in a guitar and play it. Man played piano kicked the air and wrapped himself in a burrito blanket literally. You will never be this good or creative you can act like it but damn Buckethead has already been done the rest now are just copies 🤣🤣🤣🙏🙂 if you think there is a better guitarist you need to wake up because you are sleeping and obviously dreaming. Also you can't play much faster than Buckethead. Shawn lane might be kinda fast and maybe number 2 to Buckethead number 1 In speed compared to Buckethead but I have also heard Buckethead play just as fast as Shawn lane in some songs so Buckethead is still number 1 period convince me and I will give you evidence to prove you wrong
