I really don't know what to say. Each and every Pikes is a wonder to me - a wonder how on earth he can produce such amazing, unique sounds and compositions, week after week - showering all of us with a huge wealth of new material each and every week of each month. All the while other bands of great and small will only eek out one album every 2 years if we're lucky. Amazing. Another awesome effort Bucket !! AND HE IS FINALLY ON TOUR!!! I truly hope we hear some of the awesome Pikes material from the past 4 years

Sir Brian - aka Buckethead, should have called Hexagon, Unleashed or Unhinged. Either way; this is one of his many masterpieces. Everybody who listens to his music has their favorites. This is one of mine. It has been suggested he does all the tracks himself etc. I still have a hard time believing he doesn't have other people in the studio that are a part of the pikes. The guitars, drums etc. Amazing. I think it is a great tribute to his music to say yes, there are other people that play with him from time to time. etc.

Could anyone tell me which scales he uses for his freakish albums and solos such as Rooftop? I'm not a guitar player, nor a musician, just curious xD
@blazejecar8 жыл бұрын
+Krabman all of them
@blazejecar8 жыл бұрын
+Krabman but seriously, you can't define him in like 2 or 3 scales.... it's kind of like jazz musicians, they don't really play a scale, for them each note is an individual sound on its own that can connect into any scale the note is in.
@dougcameron66098 жыл бұрын
Yeah, its primarily natural minor. The sixth mode of the major scale. Aeolean. As the others says, he, like every guitarist in the world doesnt stay with that one scale at all times, but its like 80% +. If it werent based in a particular scale it would just sound random and meaningless.
@crowe8 жыл бұрын
+Krabman I think the stuff in Rooftop that you're referring to is the unexpected stuff that lies outside of the usual blues tonality. It's chromaticism, so you could call it the chromatic scale, but I doubt Buckethead thinks of it in those terms. More of a splash of florescence.
@dougcameron66098 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Crowe where exactly are you hearing a run of chromatic notes ? A few notes here and there outside the key doesn't mean everything is chromaticism. Better than 90% of what he plays, here and elsewhere is natural minor . As for the blues scale / tonality you refer to, b almost Never uses blues scales, so that's not really relevant. b is an Astounding player, but it's not down to his incredibly advanced and ground breaking Note choices.......this isn't jazz
