Buckin' you're an inspiration. The falling, the climbing... and the old Fords!!! Just picked up a new/old 1985 f250, 37 YO like me!!! gotta let the old '80 f250 custom chare the load a bit. BULLNOSE FORD 300-6 F250 RIPSNORTER NEVER QUIT! STIHL my favorite!!! the arm will get better, carry on, an' keep on rockin! THANK YOU for kind-hearted inspiration, keep on sharing the love, from Western WA, where we don't use umbrellas, unless we're on the way to the woods commode in just the morning robe against the sleet!

Wow she's a beaut. That Highboy twasn't bad either. My 78 F250 Ranger has been in the shop for over a month, praying I get her back soon. C6 got a rebuild and a shift kit, and the motor's getting diagnosed for a dead cylinder on the 400 (#7 has good compression, good spark, but is always fowled out and doesn't fire). God bless you and the other Billy!

If you're willing to travel to Missouri, U.S.A. I live next to an 80 acre field full of these gems. Field is for pickin and shopping. The barn and shop is for driving and enjoying. We've probably got close to 100 and counting. Adding every day to the collection. They're not making anymore so we have to get them while we can. Love the video!!!!!

Some beautiful country up there. I worked a project in Myra Falls. Stayed in Campbell River at the Anchor Inn. Love that part of BC. Even the ferry ride from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo is ok. Harvested a beautiful brown bear with Circle M Outfitters a few years back. You truly live in one of God's masterpieces.

Miss my old fords. Had a 71,73,74,76,and a 78. All 4 speeds. Two were hi boys. All fe big blocks except the 78. Really want one again. Wife still has a 78. Needs a fair amount of work. If it’s a valve generally they are pretty consistent as far as noise goes. It’ll get louder and faster as you increase rpm. Be a little odd that it comes on at high rpm. Wife’s smile was the best part of the video. Awesome

I love your taste in trucks Buckin’. It’s the grill; it’s killer. Definitely interested in that ranger high boy. That’s a nice project truck for the right price. New transmission would lead me to believe there’s a vacuum issue throwing the timing off. Smile on Mrs. Ray’s face says it all!
@BuckinBillyRaySmith2 жыл бұрын
Right on,, I checked it over today and the vacuum pot is working good on vacuum advance she Gettin more dialed. It does have a kick down arm on the tranny . I’ll dig deeper
@BuckinBillyRaySmith2 жыл бұрын
These models also had an arm that ran down to the tranny for kick down when gas peddle was stepped on not vacuumed I believev
@diggerddawg Жыл бұрын
Love the old truck. I'm a chevy guy but I'm thinking my next daily driver truck will be a Ford just because I love the coyote 302's that they have been putting in them for the past 10 years or so. BTW, if you think the timing is too far advanced then the new vacuum advance cannister would be my first suspect. New cannisters can add anywhere from 6 to 20 degrees depending on the part number, so if the prior owner just put any new parts store cannister on that motor, he may have thrown the timing curve completely out of whack. It's best to go with a cannister that only adds a small amount of vacuum advance (6-8 degrees) and get the rest of your advance from your initial setting. Elgin is a reliable manufacturer of vacuum advance cannisters and they publish the advance numbers according to the model numbers of each unit that they make.

Billy don't forget our old motors are used to real gasoline with lubricity in it.... not the corn blend methanol that dries out the innards and seals of our motors. The old ones were built to last, the new ones are built to fail to turn over the tax money.

Billy my dad used to have the 72 model and 73 model Ford trucks that were two-wheel drive like that one and I guess the camper series truck and both of them had the 360 engines in them and you are exactly right,, they are not anything like a 390 but a 360 definitely loves gas and they always seem to have vacuum leaks somewhere that will drive you nutzz, trying to find them and that truck sounds like it has a vacuum leak somewhere and that will take a lot of power away from the engine,, until you can locate it and correct it
