Oops.. hate it when that happens!! Trying to edit and hit send. Bought this admittedly as a repress, but happy with what I got ($12). I’m a huge FM fan, from every iteration of the band from blues to singular mid 70’s Kirwin/Welch/Christine stuff to the Buck/Nicks superstar era. This album is a must have for students of the band. Cheers Bob, great channel!!

I was given this album, that I still have today, in 1977 and will not give it up. It's a great album for several reasons, but mainly because it shows what they brought to Fleetwood Mac. IIRC when Lindsay was asked to join FM he insisted on Stevie being included. I still take it out and listen to it today because of the influence it had on me almost 50 years ago.

For some reason BN was big in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa market. Bought my vinyl in 74. Saw them on campus 600 seat auditorium in the English Building 1/28/74. They had already signed with Fleetwood Mac but still came to Alabama to do the show. (For FMac fans it was the first performance of “Rhiannon”) There is audio of the show-horrible sound. Seeing them in such an intimate setting still one of my favorite concerts. BTW “a few”years later I was in a record store in Birmingham. Someone had bootlegged a CD from the vinyl and there was a stack. So I still have LP and CD.

Aloha Bob, Great purchase ! I personally don't have a copy at this time but if I ever find one in at least VG+ condition for the right price then I'll purchase it, it's not something I gotta have, I recall when Stevie & Lindsey Joined Fleetwood Mac, this record album was so sort after here in Hawaii & more so when her first solo record album came out anything Stevie Nicks was sky high, from 7" promo picture sleeves & 12" singles an all. Hopefully I find one one day. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR PURCHASE. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Mahalo Ed

Hadn't heard this album in forever, my wife had two copies in high school, lent them out and never got either copy back. Fast forward a few decades, she streams it all the time over the internet and I grew to really appreciate this record again! Then, a few months ago, I came across a NM copy for 40 bucks, bought it and gave it to her for Valentines Day, best VD present I'd gotten her in years! I think it holds up just as well as any of the FM stuff they went on to do!

Spot on man. For me, Lindsey is a true original and I would argue one of the most well rounded rock musicians ever. Writing, playing, recording, arranging, performing, etc. Very 70’s sound on this LP. I’ve noticed Buckingham would drift away from that slowly as his career progressed. A hybrid digital/analog approach on albums like Tango in the Night, Out of the Cradle and his newest Self titled which all sound great and totally unique sonically. Love your channel man.

Great review and great great album👍 Picked up a minty OG Gatefold about 5 years ago and it is a mainstay on my TT. I often wonder if Keith had played any track other than Frozen Love if Mick would have been compelled to ask Lindsey to join. It is the one song on the album that has all of the elements that the two of them brought to Fleetwood Mac.

Thanks for inspiring me to pull out my copy and found I got a1977 reissue for $2 at my local Goodwill store. It plays definitely VG+ but the cover with water damage is at best G. To me it’s the sound that matters most! I agree with you on recording quality-it’s somewhat muffled but my copy does play clean as a whistle. You can certainly hear the beginnings of the Fleetwood Mac sound that came after they joined. The store was a great source for classic rock for a while- I got maybe 40 or 50 classic rock records there in decent condition when they first opened but someone is intercepting the good stuff apparently before it hits the floor now. Nice while it lasted.

Bob, great find! I have the album but it’s a European boot. I got the black vinyl edition, there’s a color one at a local shop. I was surprised, it actually sounds pretty good, probably a recording from a mint vinyl. I like the solo on “Frozen Love”, that’s the solo that was played for Mick, so he could hear how the Neve console sounded, and the room sounded. One of the best drum sounds in California! Also that Buckingham Nicks album was the first album recorded on that Neve console. Great video as always!

I happen to love the Buckingham/Nicks album. It is one of my albums that survived the purge that I had to do a few years ago, I just couldn't bring myself to selling it, and I'm glad I didn't. I wouldn't have put Lindsey with The Eagles, his style is too original and wouldn't really fit in to their sound. Even so, if it would have happened, it could have made for some interesting tunes. 5 stars from me too.

I found a great copy a few years ago at a really good price. First spin through it was very obvious to me that Lindsey and Stevie really were really the driving force taking FM in the direction they went with Fleetwood Mac and then Rumours--both albums that came out when I was in high school and still listen to today. I've always been a big fan of the Peter Green era FM, but the beauty is we don't have to choose only one--we can have all five or six versions of Fleetwood Mac.

hey double b....back in the day, i would buy albums just because the cover 'peaked my interest'...this was one of those albums...it was a new release and when i got home, i listened to it...thought the guitar work was good, but wasn't crazy about her voice...then the 'new' fleetwood mac came out and sold a bazillion copies...and i still didn't care for her voice...and then i heard that mick fleetwood only wanted lindsey and not stevie..i understood why, on both accounts....lindsey buckingham is a brilliant songwriter and his solo work superceeds anything he ever did with mac....needless to say, i sold the album a few years after i bought it....got about forty cents for it....time has a way...peace always brother...rocky

About 15 years ago I was in an art show in Long Beach Ca, in the gallery parking lot in back was a tiny record store called cable car I think. I found a copy of buckingham nicks for about ten bucks and he was spinning the Amma ring by J Mascis which I had never seen before. He even let me buy that copy he was spinning. Also found second sighting by Ace Frehley I was after for five bucks and a really good Buzzcocks live bootleg on clear vinyl. The art show was just okay but that little shop was better. That’s a good record. I’m not into box sets but I have heard “rumors” of a Steely Dan set in the future. I have been after the night fly used. I may have already got that some time ago and I could be in my disorganized collection. I am kind of regretting not getting the ramones box but most I saw shown have seam splits on the covers and I am only missing too tough to die which hopefully gets an individual release. Anyone know? Thanks Bob!

I’ve listened to this album on KZbin and I describe it as a goldmine of the very best Stevie Nicks vocals and harmonies with Buckingham and even herself! These songs definitely deserve more attention and they should be remastered and rereleased given the only thing that sets this album back is that the sound quality is really bad and it sounds like it was recorded in the 50s. Also, definitely look up the Coffee Plant demo, which is pretty much part 2 of Buckingham Nicks. The song Sorcerer on there may be the greatest Stevie Nicks song of all time.

Hi Bob, Interesting fact that you may or may not know ... Those guitar solo workouts you mention - Here goes ... Mick Fleetwood happened to be at a studio (Sunset Sound I think) where a copy of this record was being played by an engineer (I think) and upon hearing it Fleetwood went "Wow, who's that?!" he was told it was Lindsey, he was looking for a guitarist to replace Bob Welch at that time and so he contacted Buckingham after hearing this (Frozen Love, I think) The rest, as they say, is history. Talk about right time, right place! Mick had found his new guitarist!! But Lindsey then insisted that he and Stevie only came as a package so it was decided they'd both be invited into the band. Destiny! Cheers.
