The 80s were such an incredible time for music, where songs and groups were not all manufactured via Simon Cowell, but there was innovation and true talent. Being a teenager or in our 20s during this time was just such fun, discos, dancing, slow dances and kisses, great music. So nostalgic to hear this, I'm transported back to a time of being care free and a much simpler life.

Brilliant song. But 1981? That was 34 years ago... surely that cant be right... It sounds like it was yesterday to me lol :)

You and apparently every single person in the world who was alive at the time think it's still 1981

The actual video here is from Top of the Pops 14 January 1982 (the song appeared in late 1981 but took till then to reach the No. 1 spot)

I used to go to a bikers pub....early 80's hawkwind, deep purple, status quo, rainbow, led zeppelin, journey would be playing....and for some reason....this song....

Love this song. The lyrics are so creepy but the tune is pure pop and the smiley, oh-so cheerful delivery by BF couldn't be more at odds with the words!

Still a great, really catchy song, more than 40 years on. A real feel good tune. Better than the Eurovision song in my book. Who knows where this band could have gone but for Mike's accident. Sadly we will never know. This tune brings me back to much happier times

Where did those 40 years go?! Remember watching this when I was only 5!
