Had the same problem with my LT2000. Turned out to be hydro locked. The fuel had leaked thru the carb, filled the cylinder. The quick fix was to remove spark plug, fuel poured out. Changed the oil, installed an in-line fuel cutoff. The tractor has run fine for the past 4 years that I've owned it. I turn the cutoff valve and let the engine run out of fuel when I put the tractor away.

Yes. I think a fuel shut-off valve is essential on any of these gravity-fed systems.

I won’t work on the Kohler Courage singles anymore because they’re a guaranteed comeback. So many issues that one or another will be blamed on you after you work on it.

Could have removed the other side and measured it and drive the other back to the same, I’ve used zip ties to hold spring down in vice Works fine by your self 😊 Junk engine period

get a new head, once valve guide moves, i replace it. courage motors is junk
