In this video, I play a blitz game against farshad1981 (2352) in the Budapest Gambit on chess.com. The middlegame features some unusual attacking maneuvers as well as a sacrifice to blow open the white kingside.

Eric, I’m trying to coach chess at my school, but I’m very new to the game. (I’ve a hard time saying no.) Your videos are wonderful, and I know I’m being greedy asking for more. But, I’d like to show my students a few gambits, and I think it would be awesome if I could stream a series of your games featuring just one gambit over and over. That way we could see a series of lines repeatedly. Just an idea. Thank you for you’ve posted already! Sorry if I’m asking too much. Stay healthy.

4:38 Nxh4 might be a try to avoid mate and fight for a draw. Knight could block queen check and in case of rook check, king steps to g3 and there are no mates and the best black can do is repeat since queen is under attack. I think.
@vkaiiims
@vkaiiims 4 жыл бұрын
No. Knight doesn't block queen checks. Qg3+, then Qf3#
@coosoorlog
@coosoorlog 4 жыл бұрын
@@vkaiiims after Qg3+, the king naturally returns to g1. though Ke2 seems to work as well since Qf3+ Rxf3. if Qxg2, King escapes but black probably has winning attack (but not mate).

@@lucasmatsuoca yes that's right. I was looking at mating patterns involving the queen and ignored the simple winning line. of course getting queen for a knight wins easily (and black still has an attack) edit: (and black gets one of the bishops too)

geometry... i think the reason chess came easy to me is math... i have always loved math.. geometry, algebra, trig, calc, analytical geometry, multivariable calc, linear algebra... i loved it all.. and i was 1604 the first year i learned chess... but i sadly lost interest in chess when i was 2300 the 5th year i played chess... i still play a game once in awhile online for fun... but since i play so little now my online rating has fallen from 2300 to 2100... plus there r SO MANY cheaters online that i dont trust playing, for example a 1569 player challenged me today then picked me apart like a tactical 2500 engine would, by sacing a R and N to open my castle that would have led to mate in 8.. 1569 players dont see that
