We visited Budapest (also Heroes Square) in September and your videos were very helpful, we tried many of the things you recommended. Thank you for your great work! Greetings from Poland!

This is where I started my walk. I didn't even know there was a castle behind it, went there just because I always check on the parks as well. I loved your parks! And I'm picky with these, coming from Bulgaria. And baaam - a castle. And a Baloon. And the zoo. And a steaming lake! Definitely worth walking to and around this square! Thanks for the explanation!

great video as always, Budapest is such a beautiful city, I've walked from The Buda Castle (across the Chain Bridge) to Hero's Square, a feast for the eyes :)
@StuffedCabbageAdventures11 ай бұрын
That is a long walk, but very scenic indeed 😊 And perhaps easier in that direction than ending with going up the hill of the Buda Castle 😅

When I was there in 1996-7 there were always a few kids on skateboards in the square, having fun...great history lesson

There are still sometimes guys with skateboards or bmx bikes doing tricks at the square 😊

When I was in Budapest, I had planned to walk to Heroes' Square along Andrássy avenue but only made it as far as Oktogon before diverting my attention elsewhere. My favourite has to be Coloman the Learned, just based on the anti-witch-burning alone.

The reasons why you should go to Budapest include that it is one of the most historic cities in the world and has interesting city architecture and all of this can be seen in your vlog. Thank you for the useful vlog🤗

Thanks for the video! Although I know quite a bit about this place, there’s always something new to learn. I think my favourite king is Mátyás Corvinus because of his accomplishments and intriguing life (and because he also was a great lover of the Kuvasz, as am I 😄). As mentioned in another comment, I was one of the kids skating on Hősök tere. My friends and I would come all the way from Farkasrét in the Buda hills to skate here … those were the days 😃

While the AI bits are a little bit cringe, they do bring those historical personalities to life and I think are a great addition to the video overall. :) It is no surprise that the Communists replaced the Hapsburgs, but all in all they are not really a loss from there. Except Maria Theresa. She definitely deserves a statue somewhere in Budapest.
@StuffedCabbageAdventures9 ай бұрын
Maria Theresa is indeed interesting, her statue that stood at the Heroes Square was relocated to Gödöllő and is now at the "Sissi" Palace. But there is no other statue of her in Budapest at all, despite her significance in our history... Sissi edges her out in popularity I guess. :D

My favourites are: Kálmán, Károly, Lajos the great (most probably more educated than Kálmán, but not famous for it) and Mátyás (if he really was just). 😁
