I also recommend taking the 291 Bus from Nyugati to the very last stop at Janos Hegy and taking the chairlift up the hill. From there it is another few minutes walk to the Elisabeth tower (named in honour of Queen Sisi - there are traces of her all over the country, so she left her mark on the country she loved so much). The Japanese Garden at Margit island (You can go there by the 26 bus from Nyugati) is also nice. Try the Fisher's bastion at sunrise - amazing and before all the masses of people crowd the area! Or do a day trip to other towns and places, like Gödöllő, Visegrád or Esztergom or even a day trip to Szeget is possible. Train system is well built in Hungary stretching into every corner. Lunch wise I always enjoy some Hngarian meal at Cafe/Presszo Tulipan, Nador Utca -just a few mins walk from the parliament building

Love your video! We will be visiting in May. I wonder if you took public transport around the city? If so, is there an app you use to tell u which trams or bus to take? Thank you!
@gerryrueffer Жыл бұрын
Thank you ☺️ you will love it! We bought a ticket for 72h. You can buy them nearly at every station and you can use tram, metro and bus. We used google maps for navigation and it’s actually pretty easy to get around with public transportation in Budapest. Have fun 🙏

Depending on where you go, along the beaten tourist tracks most people speak English and the young ones anyway, however it could be tricky with older people and outside touristy areas. Before I started learning Hungarian I had bought myself a little pocket booklet from Lonely Planet, which has lots of ready made phrases for all kinds of situations plus phonetic pronunciation in there, which is quite useful. And it wasn't very expensive either. This one I can recommend

Beautifully done video, regarding visual parts and tips. One remark: dude you might want to try to smile a bit while you are talking, cause you look like someone forced you into this job. Your girlfriend looks like she enjoyed making this video like 100 times more than you, while you look it was a kind of painful experience for you. Why?

Thank you for your advice 🙏 it‘s just my normal face but i will try to smile a bit more in future 🤭✌🏻
