Wow! Thank you young man! This was my childhood. (now 75) ! Does my heart good to see the younger generation taking such an interest in Trains, and being so knowledgeable at that!!! Thanx Gb

Dude…. I normally feel that a lot of technology is stood and useless…. But it is productions like yours that make you tube and the internet one of man’s greatest inventions… you’re a walking wealth of knowledge and your style is so conducive to learning while at the same time relaxing. Great job! I highly enjoy these posts…. Grew up in Waltham 1970’s… was always fascinated by the fact that the Budliners had no engines pushing it pulling… thought it was kinda magic…. Thanks so much for your dedication and hard work

Thank you! My father was a B&M engineer and I spent time in the cabs of his Budds and, later on, his switcher. Still warms my heart to see the Budds on the Hobo Railroad every summer during Laconia Bike Week.

Thanks to show us that archive donation. Too bad there is no RDC9, unique to B&M with only one engine and no control in the cab.

My grandpa remembers when those RDC’s were all over the place. There were at least 5 B&M branches around our neighborhood. I absolutely love the history of the trains that ran nearby. One track even went past our backyard!

13:41 I believe there is an RDC-9 just to the right of the RDC-2 on the turntable. It is basically a cabless RDC-1. They were built exclusively for the Boston and Maine Railroad and only had a single 300 hp engine and a capacity of 94 as opposed to two 275 hp engines (550 total hp) and a capacity of 90.

That was the original Orange line extension that terminated near the Edison power plant in Everett where the Encore Casino is now, not the Red line.
