@@BuddhaWeekly Tara furrowing her brow is a very interesting title to have! And are all the next videos Tara mantras?
@BuddhaWeekly2 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. We have volunteers working on different projects, so they may publish at different times, depending our our resources (which are from volunteers, patrons on Patreon and supporting members and donors on BuddhaWeekly.com). All are in different stages. Some have music written and recorded, some just written, some are in studio now. Some are in video production (illustrations, animations and editing). The Gate Gate Paragate Parasamgate Mantra is the next video. We’re releasing as fast as our volunteers and precious resources can manage. Besides the remaining five of the 21 Taras are many Dharanis (which take longer, as you can imagine, to write, record perfectly, and master, then bring to videos (which tend to be a little longer: Maitreya Great Dharani Green Tara’s Great Dharani from Sutra. Akshobhya Buddha Dharani Ratnasambhava Buddha Dharani Other Series we’re working on at music stage are: PURITY or PURE ESSENCE MANTRA (one of the most important mantras) Om Svahava mantra FOUR MANTRAS for the FOUR HEAVENLY KINGS FIVE JAMBHALA MANTRAS Each of the mantras for Green, White, Black, Yellow and Red Jambhala FIVE WISDOM DAKINIS in Sanskrit RED TARA heart Mantra And more to come. @@BuddhaWeekly Im excited for the Heavenly Kings one! They sound cool, wonder what they are doing?
FOR MORE ON THIS ORIGIN STORY, see the video on TARA: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2ivpJeOa7uFqsk Both Tara and Avalokiteshvara arise from the Lotus Family, from Compassion and Amitabha's family. In the Tara Sutra, it tells an origin tale of Tara in the story of 1000-armed Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin Kannon) shedding an ocean of tears from each eye. These were tears of compassion for suffering beings. From the power of this compassion, Green Tara arose from one ocean of tears (from the right eye of Kannon) and White Tara from the the left. This symbolizes they are of one essence, but arise in countless emanations to help suffering beings. Tara in turn, has 21 Emanations in the 21 Taras, of which this one (Mangalam Tara) is the 12th. These stories are our way of understanding that the origin of Bodhisattva's power and essence is Compassion and Bodhichitta.

What would be the best mantra to remove black magic? Thank you
@BuddhaWeekly2 ай бұрын
Traditionally, that's Black Tara mantra, which many people have had good experience with. In the Surya Gupta and Atisha lineages, Black Tara is for Subjugating or destroying, so the activity is to destroy the curse or negative intention (however you view it)-- they destroy the curse or negative karma itself, not the sender (as this is a Buddhist practice it is incorrect to intent to harm another being). Red and especially Red-Black Taras also help, but they're traditionally "controlling" mantras. We have one hour of black Tara's mantra here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJS7p6CXgZp8f7M. Whether it's an external curse, or a karmic imprint from past lives, the suppression or destroying activity is targeted at the curse or intention or the originating emotion (i.e. the hate or anger). As a Buddhist practice, however, it is important to always dedicate the merit of all recitations and practices for the benefit of all sentient beings and never to wish harm on others. Tara cannot harm another being, and can only help them. So, the "destroying" activity is destroying the curse, not the person who is angry or hateful and sending the negative intentions. And so on. If you just would like to be safe and defended, you can always rely on Green Tara, or course. Tara always keeps you safe. Green Tara saves from all the dangers.

There are many Taras. I feel an affinity wth Black Tara, in particular. Is there a reason why people would feel a certain affinity? Why does the endless knot appear with this Tara, is that a style choice for the video?
@BuddhaWeekly2 ай бұрын
Yes, usually, we might feel attraction to what we need karmically in our lives. Black and Blue Taras are the strong opponents of the poisons of anger and various enemies who afflict us. For instance, Medicine Buddha, although serene, is of the same family (the enemy is disease and illness. in his case), the Vajra family (black or blue). Black is more "wrathful energy" or more potent and suppressing than Blue, but they are both Vajra family. This yellow Tara is the same yellow Tara in both Atisha lineage and Nyingma, but in Nyingma lineage, her symbol is the endless knot signifying her auspicious activities (together with her yellow gold color). In Atisha lineage it's a gold vase with nectar in Nyingma, the endless knot. They are the same activity, just different visualizations. Hope that helps. In kindness, BW 🙏🙏🙏
