Ajahn said parents want the best for you according to what they think is best, however misguided. I forgot his exact words, but he cannot be more exact.

The Buddha compare your parents to Deva ( I think is Angels? ) Ok so it will depending on how you think about Angels , we are not going to talk about who is right or wrong here,

How do we extend lovingkindness and compassion to those who never revise their false views?
@michaelbain9086
@michaelbain9086 10 ай бұрын
I’d say see that false view as just one aspect of a person. Regardless of our opinions we are all beings who experience pain and suffering and all beings deeply desire to be happy. So show them compassion. Sure they refuse to revise their views but they also suffer just like you

Everyone has their own learning curve and stage of awakening to the ultimate truth of reality.Most of us are ignorant or fooled by our senses.Wise men shows compassion for they know we are still ignorant of the truth and empathy arises.Jesus says oh lord ,forgive them for they know not what they are doing when he was crucified.😊

@tankimhwee1054 Human beings suffer from a natural hubris. We rarely change our views, however false, until we suffer a setback and sometimes not even then. What enlightens us is how we adapt to setbacks.

@PhilOforte-bh6fp true,because we are conditioned to think that we exist and self exist.But spiritual awakening will make us realise that we are all interdependent and there is a common thread of consciousness which runs through all sentient beings ,then we find that selfish thoughts and actions are foolish. THose thoughts of my country,land,family will dissipates once we slowly awakes.😊

The compassion comes from understanding their beliefs are Ajiva or delusion and that you recognise delusion and understand you too experience delusion. Ill will must be removed and Metta practice is wise 🙏

How far into the meditative process have you gone? Recall of past lives can't be triggered randomly. Whatever deja vu you might existence is just a feeling or thought triggered by different stimuli. There's no deeper meaning.

The Buddha said to be kind but do not neglect yourself, your wellbeing. Understand why they did as they did and that it was not personal, that their own greed was the reason.
