Nice videos. I like your channel which I just discovered. I want to get a light portrait lens for my travels (I already have the Meike 85mm 1.4 for more serious sessions). Between this 85mm and the TTartisan 75mm f2 which one would you pick and recommend me ? Which one has nicer rendering ? Thanks
@ConstantineSPhotography5 күн бұрын
Thank you very much. I have the 7artisans 85 f1.8 and the TTartisan 75 f2 at hand. It really depends on what matters most to you. If it's weight, than no doubt the 75 f2 would be a better choice, but if you value the size of the bokeh a lot, then 85 would surely give you more dreamier background.

Do you happen to know where to get firmware updates for this lens? The 7artisans site doesn't even reference firmware but the marketing materials does talk about it. I've had this lens for a while now. Beautiful pictures and autofocus is fine but in some lighting conditions the camera can't seem to figure out it's light processing and it can't take the picture. This seems to be a lens issue.

I couldn't find the firmware of this lens either (checked both Chinese and English official websites ). Is it possible the issue you found is only on that specific lens? I suppose it's still under warranty, maybe you can return it and get a new one from where you got the lens.

@@ConstantineSPhotography the issue I'm reporting has been discussed by many reviews too, they just don't say much about it because they haven't used it much usually. I've now used it in a very wide variety of situations and I really really love the lens but this light processing problem is a serious annoyance. Otherwise, I'd say this is the very best 50mm lens I've used. The way it can give you a dreamy look or ultra crisp look is pretty amazing. The backlight glare/flare is pretty strong but it looks so good that I even prefer it and use it to give pictures a misty look. In general, if you want it to be, the sharpness is almost on par with the Zeiss which is around $1k. It's an excellent lens and I don't care about how big it is at all.
@ConstantineSPhotography3 ай бұрын
I'm a bit confused, are you talking about the 50mm lens or 85mm lens? For both, I haven't experienced this issue so far, but I guess I haven't used them long enough, I only borrowed them for several weeks to review.

@@ConstantineSPhotography ah I just realized I posted on the wrong lens video. Well, they use the same casing and there really isn't a 50 mm video. Plus even if there was, this is a more recent video and they are more likely to respond. So, sorry for posting on the wrong video but sort of not sorry and I'm still looking for the firmware

Sony is about as sharp as Viltrox and doesn't have better coatings, so Viltrox is similar optically overall. However I personally prefer Tokina. It's a Viltrox with good coatings. The image quality from Tokina is more consistent. It's easier to work with. It's almost like a Sigma, but 1.8 instead of 1.4

@@teresitorabaya6401 the images look great. You can get very pleasant bokeh, but zve10 doesn’t have in body stabilization, so you’ll need to use a faster shutter speed to avoid shaking

Their 50mm 1.8 suffers from problems such as uncompatibility to other camera bodies. My a6000 works with their 50mm fine but on my a6400, a6500 and a7r it doesnt work even when set to "A". The focus wrks but the aperture cant be changed thru camera body, u need to turn the aperture ring manually to change aperture. The 85mm 7artisans seems to not work on a6000 and works on a6700, a6400 and a7iii according to another ytb who replied to me
