Hey Michael… I went to the dark side too & I just got my shimano slx bfs reel from digitaka and the reel really feels good and small very easy to palm, but my question is why you don’t use it anymore? Very nice rod! I travel for work and the 7'1 Light 2 piece is my go to rod on the road. I use a Curado MGL 70 mostly but will bring the Curado BFS or Aldebaren on rare occasions.

Looking for a 2 piece "power" BFS rod because for ease of transport and ability to keep I'm my car, just in case. So far the Majestic has ticked all the boxes but still need to do some more research. I still can’t get my head around the split grip craze. Sure it saves weight, but shortening the grip overall would save more. Why have this long section you never use just interfering with your forearm on the cast!?

It surprises me that some of the Aliexpress brand rods, Tsurinoya for example, use decent guide trains and reel seats. My Proflex 2 at least claims to have Fuji's. Possible they are fake but they do not feel that way...

I no it's a little pricey but the seaguar invizx I've been using the 6lb and I was fishing the other day with a small ned rig and it got hung up I'm telling you when I was trying to brake it I but just as much force on it like when I'm using 15lb it's pretty good stuff

Last week I finally received the rod. I paired it with the Kastking Zephyr. After the first test with a 5g Ned Rig I have to say the rod feels fine but I did not manage to find the best settings for the reel using 8 pound braid.

This season the combo works absolutely awesome. Most of the time I am using 4 to 8g twitch baits for trout and perch (like small mouth in the US). Best catch so far a fat 17 inch perch close to 4 pounds. So much fun on this rod.

Will this work with Sufix pe braids? Im looking into getting this rod since its really thin and can handle my shimano SLX DC XT spooled with Sufix 832 15lb. The sensitive tip version of this rod recommend the lure weight of 2-7g, line weight 4-10lbs, does it mean it cant cast lure that beyond 7g?

I know this review is over a year old, that said good job . Question, if I went with 6 lb mono would this be a good rod to throw 3/16 to a 1/4 OZ . topwaters like the floating Rapalas & small poppers ? Even though it's a fast action I get the impression from the video that the rod has enough flex on the tip to cast these well, am I right with that assessment ?

Tried the Diawa 19 X642LB yesterday, goodness it is fast also. Looking for something to fish 1/16-1/8 (fiddler crab in shallow water) tossing next to structure. More moderate tip that won’t fold on a 5-10 lb drum. Does it exist?
