I like the switch panel on the bed rack. I've been switching mine from the from extra circuits on the switch panel in the cab. I use a similar water valve on my rotopax. It's made by Gowesty. It has a stainless steel fitting that goes under the cap and the valve threads into it without any modification. A side note, I do run my valve facing down on the tight trails. If they are facing up, they have a tendency to get pulled off. "ask me how I know" LOL

Can’t wait to utilize some of this on my old square body. After doing some measuring I found it’s not that much wider than a current Colorado and in fact might be the same after I do some trimming. I figure the second gas tank and the cargo area might make it the best thing I have for overlanding. Originally I was just going to use my TJ and probably still will for sure places but the square body by far is going to be more comfortable

Power in the tent I use a 12v or usb extension cable plugged into either my power station in my FJ, or into the power ports in the FJ that are hooked up to my aux battery. The small cables close in the weather strip of any site opening without causing any problems.

I'm fairly new to "over landing" but I have over ten years of glamping. The thing I find is that the K.I.S.S. rule applies for over landing. I don't need the convenience of the latest and greatest while camping. Less gadgets equals less stuff to deal with.

I would unplug your charging cords (for the watch, etc)from the USB hub when not in use. They can draw power (admittedly not much= 0.029A) even when not in use. If the cable gets pinched and shorts out it could get messy? Now you got me looking at bed lights for my off-road trailer!

BLUF: Spending money on critical components is more important than having cool guy gear. Good video helping to break down the thought process that you have to have thousands and thousands of dollars overland gear to get out and enjoy yourself. There is a place for good equipment, but it can be good enough gear in a lot of cases. Critical gear can be expensive, so cutting costs on little things like using a square water jug vs a rotopax adds up. Keeping stock rims, but uo grading tires, spending 300 bucks on a ground tent, vs 3000 on a rooftop tent.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures

You seem to have missed to point of this video. At any point in the video did I say or imply that gear was more important than critical components? Nope. Sure didn’t.
