One of the best things about frozen orb combined with lightning or fire is orb can be used as a left click spell. Its quite odd if using both spells at once you arent doing that tbh. Would definitely recommend for anyone trying this build

I was running a half assed blizz sorc because I thought that was the best - everyone else seems to run it. But I was a glass cannon. It was good for some things but disastrous for others especially since I don't have an Infinity. I tried this build and it's amazing. I can take down anything. I feel safer everywhere. I can actually farm Chaos and Baal. Sure it's not the fastest spec ever but it holds it's own. Thanks!

I'm also sporting a blizz sorc, but I'm so tired of it! I rly want to play lightning. I now have a ber rune.. half way to infinity! I use tal mask, amu, armor, belt, spirit shield, occu, war travs and to nagels. I think I have like 10+ on skills. I also have a cold skiller and two light skillers. I'm thinking i need to try this build, as I'm starting to wonder if that ber rune should go in an enigma instead - for a hammerdin :S

Cool build! Now I don’t have to do ancient tunnels, cows and mephisto until my eyes bleed, or wait for stupid meteors to land. Thank you! To those worrying that the gear isn’t budget enough… the WT, chancies, etc don’t add damage. You’ll be fine if you focus on resistances. I use a wizard spike and lore for my helm and it’s fine for example. Gotta start somewhere!

Immunity to cold+lightning is way more common unfortunately. Usually those dark ranger type dangerous uniques enemies are light+cold immune. 💫

Tried a Frozen Orb Sorc with either Meteor (this thing takes AGES to land...), with Fireball (needs too many synergy-skills), and with Hydra (seems to only tickle mobs but can kill mobs around a corner)... all felt lackluster without a TON of +skills. Will try with Lightning coming Ladder and see how it feels.

I think there are 4 ways to go: just one hard point; enough points to reach lvl 10 (-65%) with +skills, because in addition you use a wand with lvl 2 lower resists (-37%) and reach -100% to kill bosses; or lvl 17 with +skills to reach -100% without the need of a wand or max it if running a cold sorc (eg pure Blizzard)

@@rupp88 I've geared up a bunch since this post, but the +1 to Cold Mastery seems to be ok for now. It was good enough to get through the game, and really nice for countess/pit/andy runs. I don't know if I'd have the paitence to shop farm a lower resist wand tho. Interesting math stats too, thanks!

@@hiotsobo it's a very good skill, I soloed the game (Single player) with a FO+CL build, and in that time there were no respecs. Although I made some mistakes with the skill allocation, FO remained solid at 20 hard points and 1 in CM. The problem was the lighting tree, so I did need a LR wand for instance in the chaos sanctuary

I've found firewall very helpful as well. Never used to use it but early on I got an item that gave me +3 to firewall and I was impressed with how well it took out enemies. Especially around corners. However you do need a line of sight to use it and also enemies can move away from it. Nice videos man.

Hello, I am interested in this hybrid. I am just not sure how good is an idea to wield Infinity directly with the sorceress. I already own Infinity, it rolled well! :) I see that players mostly focus on FCR, but if I sacrifice FCR to -resistances, I think it would work too. Probably with Infinity, I don't need to make a hybrid. But my point of view is focused on: how to make hybrids stronger. Similarly I think about Bramble runeword for javazon hybrid of poison and lightning.

Orb lightning is the best way to go on D2R with budget gear IMO. I tried hydra, meteor and fireball. Always came up weak and fire immunes seem to always be in the best areas. Blizzard is good to but I don’t care for the play style and some monster always walks through it untouched.

Nice video! Another Budget Shield to use instead of a Milabrega's (which has +20% mf ) in your gear swap, is the Rhyme Shield. For those who don't know, you can find a Shael Rune on Nightmare Countess and put it on any 2-socketed shield along with an Eth Rune and bam, ** +25% mf and +25 All Res **. Powerful budget stuff

I have tried this build yesterday, it’s fun, but I didn’t t liked that much cuz frozen orbs seems to do more damage than lightning due to cold mastery. Since I don’t have any items to lower light resistance, it feels too much skill points invested in a skill to do less damage than frozen orb. After tests I decided to go frozen orb/fire ball build and I’m super happy, fire damage is very satisfying, I’ll prob stick with this build until I can afford an Infinity and then go pure lightning.

Wouldn't it be smart to put at least 1 point into nova for synergy? You could put all your points into charged bolt, sure, but with +skills that 1 point into nova would become +X points and you'd then acquire +X points of synergy for just +1 point due to the +skill items you're wearing.

It's not budget in my book, but it is much more common than a lot of other elite uniques. I think I've found 3-4 in my years of playing. I've never found tal armor, windforce, grandfather, any rune above GUL (although I've found several of them or gotten them on hell act 4 quest), maras, arachnid mesh, dracul's grasp....

Any - enemy lightning resists on your merc only applies to him. He can have -110% enemy resists on his gear but it won’t help you at all. Use an insight thresher, and a vamp gaze / tal rasha / Andariel’s helm on your merc. He just needs a lot of life steal to stay alive. The griffons eye is doing absolutely nothing for you, nor is it doing anything for him.

God my build is really annoyingly weak without a shako and spirit shield. Can't find either to save my life but I was able to find a freaking ormus, andy helm, and a flipping eye of etlich which all have fairly high chances to get. Been solely farming mosoleum, ancient tunnel and mephisto.

I dont agree with this. Shako and vipermagi are not budget items. The spirits are fine. Chanceguards, war travs and goldwrap??? Those might be in budget, but not likely. Caster crafted amy with no skillers, resist crafted rings, and a belt with any resists are what I'd call budget. Lore helm.

yes. You should also be using lightning instead of chain. no idea why they are using chain in the video... would be one shotting most of the enemies they are spending 10 attacks on.

Calling this build budget is seriously misleading. Shako, Ali Baba, Vipermagi, Chance's all sell/trade for runes above Pul. Your average player in need of a budget will be lucky to have found a Fal or Lem. I know people who have been playing since launch and out of your set up only have the goldwrap and spirit with their best rune so far being less than Lem. Seriously, the only budget items on here are those controllable, e.g. Spirit, Monarch/Spirit/whatever offhand and your jewelry. All the rest require mid range runes or amazing rng luck.

No offense pal, but if their highest rune is FAL after a couple weeks then they should consider running the countess and upping the lowrunes they find there ... Furthermore 35fcr spirit shield/sword is worth UM+ usually, so even if they just run countess for runes and socket cheap swords, after a few days they can easily afford this build.

Running the countess is not the answer. I have ran her a ridiculous amount and rarely seen anything above a Thul. I have had Ohm's drop in ActV, but Countess? No, she has been a waste of time for me and my friends. Mentioning Spirit makes me think you missed the point entirely. I was able to make my Spirit the first I began playing d2r. It's commonplace, even Monarchs are oversaturated in the d2r trade community due to everyone running cows for bases. It's not worth an Um, not even close. Your statement about combining runes isn't lost on me, however you should consider what you're saying. If Thul is the average benchmark there are 8 other runes between Thul and Fal and it takes 3 of each said rune to make the one ahead of it plus a particular gem type and tier. Moreover Fal isn't looked for, it's Lem that's the minimum. Lastly, the items aside from the random jewelry pieces and rune words (spirit mh and whatever oh) are the only real budget items in his build. The rest are rng bound and go for much more than the minimum Lem which those who need a budget build have never seen drop.

i just tried this build and honestly i had a hard time killing monsters in hell compared to just a pure blizzard sorc Edit: actually gave it a chance and its actually pretty good!

I just speced into this from all FIRE level 46. I feel like this it like a stick and move lighting trapsin. I have one of those. ill push into hell to see if i respec again. I wish fire was more viable.

FrostBurns is pretty budget, grants a large Buff to your Mana-pool 30% Max mana or something isn't it. even perfect chances are only %40 MF I think. it might be worth switching if you have a mana problem.

@@betafishjeremy7454 Hell Meph, Hell Andy, it's relatively low level, maybe even nightmare Baal and Chaos runs would drop em, if hell isn't on the agenda at the moment. it's a lower level item. maybe requires level 30 or something.

Pretty much any Lightorb or Meteorb sorc is viable, it just changes where you can farm more effectively

Using Meteorb now but feel like switching.. The orb and meteor is on same cooldown, also very annoying to aim meteor in hell mobs that run around🙄

@@Misstajay You can run fireball instead of Meteor. You lose some aoe, but I've always preferred it over Meteor since you can spam it between frozen orbs

You only need a total of -150% enemy resists. No monsters in the game have more than that. You’ll have them fully lowered with the -150%

@@BickfordsRs3 I deleted my Sorceress and re-do my stats. My mistake was I used the Reset Stats/Skills by Akara and I put all my Stats on Energy and Strength, this made my Sorceress to get 2 hit by Duriel cuz seriously I don’t have Vitality. So instead of wasting time to level up my Vitality stats I just deleted my Sorceress yesterday night then played a new lightning Sorceress today with a Vitality main Stats. I just finished the game and I’m on Nightmare now. Lightning Sorceress is really such good build. 👍

If you get good at landing your orbs (exploding the orb inside the NPC) it’s still pretty good. A bit more dangerous than blizzard, so just be careful.

Just zig zag step Andy and you can kite her for days backwards with orb. Only thing that sucks is when your merc aggros her but you can sort of infinitely kite her if you walk up close enough to make her want to melee attack you she'll spray her poison and then usually walk at you like an orb length away throw off orb and just kite back into circles until she's dead. Usually don't even have to use a pot. Very easy still

Why didn’t you go with orb synergy vs lightning synergy? Just curious as I’m leveling to this type of build now but not certain if cold focus of lightning focus is better.

Cold Blizzard is Starter until respec to Lightning with Infinity. Cold Orb is pure PvP with max ES/Telekines.

I don’t think Orb has synergy, and mastery reduces resistances instead of how lightning mastery increases dmg

If you're leveling, I'd just dump everything in Frozen orb/cold mastery, then ice bolt. Cold mastery will be breaking any cold immunities in nightmare until it gets fixed, and after it gets fixed you can just run a lower res wand on off hand. Use your nightmare respec to go into Lightorb once you have some decent gear to start getting through hell

@@Marekw1976 that synergy only adds +2% with each hard point put into it. The damage is minuscule for the amount of points you have to waste. Even after 20 hard points it only adds 40% damage on orb. It’s just not worth it

Your resistances are very weak: -14% fire res, 21% fire res, 52% cold res, 21% poison res. I don't know how you can survive in Hell difficulty? When you get to act 5 in Hell the problem should be very bad. I have a similar setup like yours with better equipment and resistances (85% poison res, 75% res in all the rest) and still get into trouble sometimes, especially with the 3 ancients whom I could not pass at this time. I am a lev 87 lightning-orb sorceress.

I liked a lot ur vídeo but im nota agree that its the BEST dual sorc cause the BEST way of getting items is farming 7 or 5 Ppl game for more drop chance which ones u cant deal unless u skill Up ir orbe y got 45 points on ice tree and the rest on firewall
