Awesome video. Another solid dump of information. The one thing that may have been missed is if someone wants to keep the R180, they can order CV shafts from a 2014 QX80 and have Titan swap width CV axles that fit the R180.

The main reason I went with SPC upper arms for my truck was for ability to push the wheels forward to give more room for the tires while still allowing proper alignment specs. I was able to use the ADO lockout washers maxed out and used the upper arm to set the camber and caster. It is still a ball joint, so I doubt any travel was gained over an OEM arm.
@andys_log9 ай бұрын
I love that the SPC arms do that. I worry that since I was alone talking I wasn’t able to convey 100% of the message I wanted but really the goal was to show you can get good travel out of this truck for cheap and it be reliable. Those SPC arms are legit!

@@andys_log it's good to show / have discussion of all ways to titan swap. Like you mentioned, it's easy to think you need to throw cubic dollars at a rig to make it better. If a person was looking at a suspension with a few miles and was buying tie rods and possibly control arms anyway, it's not much more to make it awesome.

7:47 to run the stock differential you use infinity QX80 axles no custom axles needed
@andys_log21 күн бұрын
I would want the added strength of a larger differential. And they are super cheap you can get them for 100-200$ so it’s a no brainer. Your option works well too but when stronger is just as cheap why not!

Dude this deep dive into a budget titan swap was wicked to learn about. I thought a titan swap wouldent of made sense for me until now. Only hard part sounds like switching out the front diffs on the floor. i would want to run stock parts for sure rather then custom 1 off half axles
@thedude828-ed2nn8 ай бұрын
It is better to do a front diff swap to the m205 the r180 is not bulletproof the cv axles on it are also a weak point but it does work fine.

@@max.b92i think i read your comment wrong my bad but i was just saying the m205 is a better way to go im actually titan swapped but i have the r180 running qx80 axles and they have been fine so far. My dilemma is my truck is a king cab i have a m226 with a locker but my truck didn't have it originally my m226 came off a older 2wd nismo off-road so it and my truck are geared with 3.13 gears so for me to get the m205 i have to regear my truck which blew my budget up big time because i dont trust myself to do gearing i installed my rear axle and titan swap kit but ive never done gearing so im gonna have to pay a shop to do that which sucks. But the m205 is a stronger diff and the axles are supposed to be stronger than the qx80 shafts from what ive heard but they are easier to change out too.

Correct. Keep in mind the more you lift the more you will need adjustment. So if you plan to lift over 2-3” you absolutely will need aftermarket upper control arms and should run a coil over

I think you can do Spindles on a 2wd, then with a titan suspension swap that will allow you to run a larger coilover. You’ll have to speak to someone that’s done that specific setup to find out the sizing
@marco40814 ай бұрын
@@dahatcheryi think you need a drop bracket for that, anything past 3 inch lift and the cv could bind at full droop. I have a 6 inch rc lift but im pulling it off and going for 2.5 inch titan swap.

@@marco4081 my truck isn’t 4wd. I know that all I would need is CST 4” lift spindles and because of that perhaps run the Titan upper control arms and a 2” spacer lift. I specifically didn’t touch on that because every setup is different. If you are on this setup on 3inches with a good alignment you should be fine. If you are 3 or more on this setup you might have to get an aftermarket upper for more adjustment. That extra inch of lift won’t do as much as you’d like off-road. Trust me lol
