Great tips for gifts for teachers! I was an aide in an elementary school teaching a reading program to at risk readers and while I was there because I love the kids and working with them and I didn't expect gifts from my students, it was so sweet when I did get gifts. Working with kids is one of the best jobs ever to me. Thanks for all you do to educate our children!!

Any things that a teacher makes use of for themselves and kids the teachers will definetly appreciate. I created a box full of school supplies like post it notes, note pads, paper clips etc put some nice candy and greeting card for Christmas for my kids teacher. It costed less than 7$ for all the stuff I got. My kids teacher appreciated it.

thanks, my sister is a teacher herself, and she always give me ideas what to gift to my kids teacher, I always, asked them if they need something in the class, I do couponing heavy and I don't mind to send any extra they need it, I really care for my kids teacher, specially they go to special ed class. so I know how hard you guys work with our kids,thanks, loved always you channel.

Hands down one of my most favorite videos you've ever done! I'm an interpreter for the deaf and this year I got a Christmas card from my student. It's beautiful! I love it! I have the names of the family on there so I don't remember her sister and have finally gotten to "meet" her parents! It was the best gift! I wish you were my teacher when I was younger. You are thoughtful and kind. I had awful, abusive teachers at my school who picked on my classmates and pretty much every kid at school who were vulnerable.

I always give on the first day an orquid or a small plant to my kids teachers. For me is something simple , cute and from the heart. And they appreciated alot. And I include the secretaries in the office and the nurse in my list , because they don a hard work too.

I'd never have thought to give supplies as a gift but it makes sense, I worked as a teaching assistant a few years back and supplies were so low sometimes the teachers would buy stuff with their own money.

Elizabeth Strickland Not at all! That's really sweet. The end of the first week is also a very thoughtful time, too. The first day is often really, really hectic for teachers/kids (shortened schedules, assemblies, etc.) but as things wind down at the end of the week just to say, "thanks for the great first week"...I know that would mean a lot to me!

Thanks for the tips! My daughters teachers and therapists will be receiving gift bags with herbal tea, a scented candle, and a nice hand soap from bath and body works (all of which i got on sale or clearance :) ). I always try to give something "consumable" so they can use it and its done and they dont have something they have to hold onto if it doesnt suit them (like a mug, ornament, etc). Ive also asked her teacher for her classroom wish list so santa can bring the classroom a gift- I know that usually blesses teachers hearts, too. Thanks for the tips!

I got all my teachers gifts from the dollar tree! I have 4 teachers total, 2 women & 2 men. I got them all the ceramic travel coffee mugs, then for the women I got the nola hand wash and bath gel and for the men I got santa shape chocolate! Plus, a christmas card, which I got last year at the after christmas sale! Got christmas cards that were $15 for $3! P.S. Thank you for being a teacher! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Last year I made homemade salt dough holiday ornaments. I hand painted them and gave them out to all of my teachers. I got a lot of positive feedback. I'm planning on doing another gift this year. I'm not really well behaved in class, like, I get a lot of detentions. I'm really loud... But that is just my little "thanks for putting up with me..." Haha

im a teachers wife. the best gifts imo are when the parents pool their money and buy something they know the teacher will love. so, you have to know the teacher. parents have given us a state parks pass because they know he hikes with his family. last year they gave us 6 month pass to the local rec center because they know he goes with his family. also, if the teacher has young children, gifts for them are a great idea and what fun for a middle schooler or young person to pick out a toy for his teachers kid. my favorite idea is ashleys gift of cinnamon, cloves, orange to boil to scent the house.

My favorite teacher is being played off and she is my music teacher. She has taught me since 3rd grade and now I'm in middle school. The day she told us she was leaving we couldn't stand to even touch our instruments. We didn't play at all that day but instead we just cried together and there were lots of groups of us huddled up in group hugs while crying. I need to find a gift for her that she will love. I actually cried the whole day and I really need a good gift idea. 😢

teachers aren't allowed to hug children in Australia, i think it is a terrible shame. I know it is important to be vigilant about abuse but children spend so much time with their teachers and teachers can be such a wonderful influence on a child's life. little kids in particular love to hug and a teacher here has to step away, i think it is very sad. i imagine that you are a wonderful teacher you have such a lovely attitude and nature.

Write a thank you card! or what I did once is I decorated a jar, put jelly beans (or any gummy candy they like, could be any candy) in it then I put a fake flower on it!

Also, pay attention to any little jokes the teacher has! I student teach with a 2nd grade teacher, and when the kids are working, she'll be doing her own work or helping students. So she'll say "I'm not just at my desk eating bon bons!' So I made a little desk/chair out of toothpicks and some paper, and gave them to her!
