I have watched some of your videos on KZbin about using your air fryers. Very enjoyable. I don't own an Air Fryer yet but I have narrowed my choice down to the Ninja Dual Zone 9.5L and the Cosori Dual Zone 8.5l XL. I can see you have used both to cook large chickens in and would like know which of the two air fryers in best not just for cooking the chicken but in general. We cook large chickens ie about 1.8kg+ (ish), so that's why I'm reaching out. If you could only use one for chicken cooking, would you use the Ninja or Cosori - thanks! If you have time, it would be great to have your feedback

Hi Kerry, i love chicken done in the air fryer, i did one last week( i forgot to buy a lemon). I do mine on 180 in the dual blaze, i do it for 30 mins breast side down then turn it over and do it for 15 mins, then i cover the legs with foil then do it for about 25 mins. I also chuck some veg in down the side to roast at the same time, potatoes, carrots and turnip. I haven't tried white turnips roasted yet but celariac is nice roasted. I hope your move went well, looking forward to seeing your new kitchen, i'm jealous

If you would put aluminum foil over chicken for about 10 minutes when you first take it out you might not have to leave it in air fryer as long. I will admit I haven't cooked a chicken. A whole chicken is normally not seen in grocery stores near me in Michigan USA. What does the lemon do for the chicken? Good job!

I still prefer the Cosori dual blaze, with two heating elements, no preheating and no shaking/ turning. Cooks a full chicken a treat!

Oh it really is isn't it Sandra😋😋😋 honestly Sandra, moving house today and I'm absolutely bushwacked, can hardly move lol🤪 usual initial issues, Al spent an hour trying to turn the heating on (electric boiler that didn't look anything like a traditional gas boiler) I come along to see if I can help, turn a switch on and off and voila! it works😂 1 nil to me lol

Hi Margaret, manual says drawers and crisper plate dishwasher proof. Personally I only put crisper plates in DW (when I owned one in old house!) Ninja frown on their drawers going in as well, so I've never risked it

Hi Kerry, hope you’re feeling a bit more rested after the move. Just something I noticed (I rewound the video a couple of times) when you did the final 20 minutes it looked like you didn’t change the temperature on the roast setting (was 220 degrees) ? Not sure but that could be why the chicken was a bit well done on the outside. 😊

I really dislike moving when you have the period of not being able to find anything you want, Even if it’s in marked boxes, you have to find the right box hehe. Chicken does look very tasty. I agree regarding air fryers cooking meat so nicely, always so moist. The taste test is chefs perk. Haha.

Hope that the move went well! Kerry, have you tried cooking cheaper cuts of meat such as shoulder of pork in the ninja? It's my favourite, but although the crackling has turned out beautifully roasted in the airfryer, I have reverted back to the oven for the tenderness of the long, slow roast in the oven.

It's been a long day Alyson but am glad it's over🤪😄 new place needs curtains but luckily I've sheets as a temporary solution. Mondays vlog will be a sneak peek of kitchen and garden. I love shoulder of pork, often buy pork shoulder steaks in my weekly shop, better priced than pork chops and a lot more succulent. Will try a proper shoulder pork joint in the Airfryer asap 😋😋😋👍💕💕

Hi Kerry yes ducks are longervthan a chicken. Definately would not fit the Nija (I tried) so probably not in the cosori dual drawers but will fit jn an airfryrr oven, I did mine at xmas in the corporate aifryr oven and cooked perfect. But be aware ducks produce more fat.

crack the bones by squishing it down a bit as anything near the top will be in contact with the element, not a good idea if you want your air fyer to last.

Thanks a lot for this video, Please can you help me , regarding the cooking time, in terms of speed, is there a big difference between your ninja af451eu and this one cosori dual zone ? I am afraid to buy it because some reviews say that it is very slow. It will be my first air fryer, in our country these devices are very expensive, so I want to choose carefully, there is an offer on cosori dual zone cheaper than ninja . The ninja is faster in my opinion, but not a lot in it say a few mins or so depending on what you're cooking😀👍👍 good luck with choosing!

What temperature should the chicken be? You use the Ninja and the Cosori, I guess you like the Ninja better? Please can you do a comparison. I have the Cosori but nearly all recipes are for the Ninja😢

Hi Pauline, most airfryers whatever the brand are similar in time and temperature, but it's always good practice to keep an eye on the cooking with the knowledge that you'll likely either end it early or extend time no matter what you're cooking and in whatever AF you're using, useful to have a temperature probe so you know what's going on inside the food you're cookjng👍 They vary due to size, shape etc but broadly are the same. I do have a cosori playlist, with a long list of recipes to browse😀👍💕

Hi Kerry I have a dual drawer 8L air fryer from Aldi I cooked a small chicken 1.2 kg at the weekend but I was very disappointed as it was still pink around the leg joints after cooking it for an hour @ 180c also I think I’ll continue to cook mine in the oven so that I can do the roast pots and roast veg at the same time and then the Yorkshire pudding. I felt it was a very drawn out procedure to get a Sunday dinner on the table.

Don't give up on it, maybe you need to turn it up to 195c upside down for 30 mins, then 195c right way up, there's always possibility that you might need to add minutes at the end as AFs are variable. I used to cook my chicken in my oven for over 2 hours, much prefer an hour and a bit for sure over 2+hours😀👍💕

Think the mistake you made Kerry was the last 20mins of cooking, you forgot to drop the temp from 220°C down to 195°, think that’s the reason the skin got a wee bit overdone.👩🏻‍🍳
