Back in the Day I travelled this country and beyond in an old J40 Landcruiser and beyond mostly on open space between the main tracks. I had with me a workmate called Steve whom I called Margaret by the journeys end cos he complained so much. It is amazing how that earth we call Pindan goes from rock hard to mud with some rain on it. Best to travel in the dry. I had the thought that next time you travellers go outback, invest in a Drone collectively to find those rockholes or whatever else your searching for off road. Snatching that truck was an event! I don't think I would have thought that could be done but there you go! Well done.

Hi Igel Liebe, I’ve since bought a drone and have used it for the purpose you describe...but in this case to see if a snotty track terminated quickly. It did. Glad you like the Vid. Just don’t call me Margaret.

Filled up today in San Francisco - 87 octane @ $3.89/gal. Thought that was expensive! Turns out if I filled up w diesel at Kunawarritji I'd be shelling out damn near $280...and that was two years ago. Ouch, indeed. Love the video, thanks for filming. One question: at 4:40 you pass a tree that you pass again going down a short bit later. Why'd you turn around? Did you go up there for the view, or was it a dead end? Just curious. Keep up the good work mate! When I make it back to Oz I want to join in on one of your adventures. Epic road trip

G'day mate. About to leave for the same trip but in the opposite direction. Noticed one of the cars had a rake on the roofrack - is that to pull spinifex out from under the car?
@mongreldogproductions5 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex Brown, no....he use to use it to rake up the debris and clear his tent site before spreading out his ground sheet. We didn’t encounter a lot of spinifex unless we went ‘bush’ to find a suitable bush camp at end of day. We also encountered a bit when we went off road where tracks didn’t exist. Luckily, no fires as a result. Thanks for watching.

@mongreldogproductions8 жыл бұрын
Hi Black Hawk. Yeah, I do get around. So much to do; so little time. No, no lotto win. Still waiting for that to happen. This 4WD trip allowed me to do some roads and tracks that aren't suitable (IMO) for Adventure Riders,. I would avoid the Gary Highway at all costs on a bike.

What a bunch of Drongos, I would like to the lot of them bogged down to the Axles for at least a week. Don't they realise the cost of sending out graders to repair the damage they do in ploughing the outback roads to deep mud just for their "Enjoyment" If the roads are wet, and it's raining, stop and park up for a couple of days. I have seen some of these roads when they have dried out after Mutton heads have turned them into Paddy fields. they should be banned from leaving the Bitumen Just look at the state of the track leading up tp 8.00. Shameful, and these are Aussies, not ignorant tourists
@mongreldogproductions5 жыл бұрын
Hi Emperor Hundred Head, thanks for your interest in the Vid....too bad you didn’t like the content. A lot of the roads aren’t maintained at all by councils and if they are, they close the roads after rainfall so they don’t have to do a lot of maintenance. If the roads aren’t closed, we’ll drive on them. I’ll let the rest of the crew know your thoughts on the matter. Thanks for watching.
@tbonemc21183 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. Only for enjoyment many tracks and roads are chewed up so badly they're unusable even after they've dried out. Why does it matter who owns a track or road because someone's worked damn hard probably at great cost only so someone else can make it impassible. Even many bitumen roads in the Territory used to be closed when it was very wet or flooding because the road bases would get sodden and trucks would rip up kilometers after sinking through the bitumen surface. Enjoy outback Australia but leave it like you found it and that includes taking all of your rubbish with you.
