I SO agree with this! I hate seeing a single budgie (not bad in itself really) in a tiny cage with one mirror tie with a bell. Never leave cage, never have mental stimulation. It makes me so sad!

I love this channel. I found a budgie in the middle of the street in October and have been taking care of him since. He’s been to the vet a few times and had a whole work up, needed antibiotics. He’s so wonderful and I’ve grown to adore him. This channel has taught me so much. I’m working on taming him slowly and getting him to eat good food- it’s been a challenge. I read the comments on all the videos and feel encouraged

It cost me $40 plus $60 for two cages and $30 for 12 toys. $25 plus $14 plus $9 for three special perches and $28 for mineral blocks and food pellets and seed. $25 for one Budgie and $30 for two more Budgies. $ Something around $300 to set up housekeeping for three Budgies. But don’t you ever get sick, little Budgies, because Avian Vets will charge me $400 for just one visit to examine ONE of you and take blood samples. More$ for medicine and more $ for follow up visit. THIS is why you MUST feed Budgies VEGGIES and fresh greens 🥬 and CHANGE the water EVERY day. If you don’t, Budgies can get sick and you will be bankrupt.

Yes, this is very true but unfortunately I see parents buying a budgie for their child with no real thought to the health or happiness of the budgie. When their children come to the parents in tears because there is something wrong with the budgie the parents say "well it was only $20...we'll just get another one. So very sad for both the budgie AND the child...oh and btw...how much do you spend on your 2 year old child? The intelligence of your budgie is about the same...

well the more the better, if there's always someone to interact with him then it's fine, but if not I prefer two budgies. to keep each other company. but if you are planning on bonding with your budgie yea it is easier to only have one.

When he says Meekahz it means macaws also I have 2 wonderful pet budgies one is a female Albino named Athena and a male harlequin named Ares. Athena is a sweerheart and goes up in my finger and loves that I give her attention meanwhile Ares is terrified of me and doesn't let me get close to him I think it is becasue in his last home he was abused (my 2 budgies are rescues)

I would love to get two budgies but I'm afraid of how fragile they are. I had a friend whose budgie dropped dead without warning one day. That freaks me out. I am also fearful of broken blood feathers. I've had lots of different pets, but never a bird. Maybe I should admire them from afar. :)

Dont be too fearful, I had a budgie who lived 6 years, just take proper care and research and you should be fine. Blood feathers are also jot as common as you'd think, my last budgie never had one in the 6 years I had her.

Hi my experience is hamsters are quite jumpy they can live inside and outside mine liked to live outside more were they can nibble on grass. Budges are great pets to once again can live inside and outside. But budgies bites hurt but there not as bad as my sisters birds. Hope this helped remember to research.

How much attention is enough attention? Lets say how many hours a day? How many times a day? How long do interactions need to be? Lastly if you are going on a trip how many days can you let them be by themselves?

I know just u can GO on a trip max for one day, because if u stay more The watter will go bad and The seeds as well. And The more Time u spend whit The bird, the better.

Simply put, if you have to ask about how many 'hours' you need to give to your pet, and it is a deciding question if you want one or not... then you do not have the time nor the will to keep a pet of any kind. You give what is needed and what is needed is what the pet wants. If they want to be social then you need to give the attention needed to fullfill the pet's social needs (though said attention can be very passive at times), and it is highly individual just how much they need. If you leave home and for whatever reason you can't take them with you for extended times, then get someone who can take care of them... or if you can't find someone, then you don't get to travel... at all. Because you took on the responsibility to care for a pet, you as the owner have signed away a huge chunk of your freedom and you'd be a piss poor person if you can't respect the social contract that is pet ownership.

Budgies are good pets, but I don’t recommend getting more than 1 at a time. Mine hate me. They are bonded with each other and not me.

if you are planning on taming your budgie, then you are right. it is just that most people can't spend much time with their bird due to their work, school etc.. so you just don't want your bird to get bored if you are usually busy.
